#### exposed like a mf on wills blog!!!!

the stuff you have done will ,i would be crapping it at attempting the engine opening part

I think there's too much French car bashing on this forum. I really like french cars. I've owned way more than Japanese. The Germans build the best ones though, particuarly that bunch from Stuttgart.

Hope you get yours sorted soon Will.

Nope there #### after working on cars for many years I can say I work on more French cars than any other, then german with dodgy electrics then Japanese obviously not including the yanks, rusians, malaysians, English, Italians in this but the japs still come first French second to last after rover. But then again less rover than French now as they're starting to die out

french is still better than hyundai.... :wasntme:

Lol

Think I'd still rather hyundai

i dunno i don't think hyundai have ever produced a car that can match other companies for the terms of price/quality/power.
any car company nowadays can make a shiny 'mainstream' looking car. but will it still be here in 20 years?

Eeeew, Hyundai. The original coupe model looked like the designer had pooed in his own hands and patted it into a car shape . The new one's marginally better...

lol whats this soap opera going into a dodgy version of top gear? what on earth is going on here!

so before i got 103 miles to £15 pounds

this time 168 miles to £30

which is odd but once all the leads and stuff have been chnaged it should improve

They are in general pretty crap, but my borther had a 1.5 coupe s, lovley car he put a bigger turbo etc on it and got it borderline 180BHP

I had no idea such a thing existed
Aren't they Mitsubishi colt engines? I'll have to investigate this didn't know there was a turbo

well as i said

They are really rare! they do regular 1.5 (hammond bought one in the 17 year old challange on top gear) and then they do this turbo version, it only has 110BHP standard though.

Made my evening and took away my sunday' "tomorrow you have to go to work" blues at the same time

well after a big discussion about nothingness i got some bits yesterday!

well a faff i would call it!

i went to my local auto factors yesterday morning to get the dizzy cap, leads and rotor arm. So they had the leads and not the dizzy cap and the rotor arm so he said we'll order it for later on.
so i left college early to pick the two items up and they had only orderd in the cap so had to go back again to get it this morning!

i will be fitting it tomorrow or today whatever but today coming to the college i popped onto the A3 and opened up the tap and made it scream! (i have that affect on anything ;) )

then pulled up at the lights and the idle goes straight to what i set it at! and it doesnt last long and goes back a few miles later how strange!

but at least its working as im goinjg away for 4 days tomorrow and will be relying on the car to move about!

not yet i hope they will be fine on my stock engine! as you keep saying about them being best for turbo cars!

well the new stuff has made it smoother which is a result i managed to lock off the idle screw and its much settled now!

just the case that the idle still does that thing where as its dropping it sits at about 1200 rpm and then drops down to the guess of 750rpm which i set it at!

i feel i may have another slow puncture i really dont have good luck with tires

Na iridiums are designed for longevity Mate that's why turbo cars use them because they're stronger, coppers are good to, both are better than standard crap

Hmm my sx does that because I converted it to a manual from an auto but didn't bother to wire in the the neutral position sensor on the gearbox, usually I'll pull up at lights and it'll rev at 1200 then I give it a little blip and it'll drop down

have you moved your throttle position sensor will btw ?
if thats not set to (.5v iirc) then the idle will keep going loopy

not on this tb i did on the other one but this one is fine as i didnt remove it to resolder the tb...

i just think the IAV is nackered!

anyone got a spare they could sell me? which works haha

ideally im sure i need to reset it like paul did frank possibly

but when it does drop down on its own which is does it settles quickly and doesnt wiggle about

well new plugs are in the car and they have settled in nicely feels more responsive now but the idle still isnt perfect but it is livable i guess got a good few goodies coming and ready to go on over the coming weeks so they will hopfully cheer my up eh!

:( worth a try and at least they won't need doing again for quite some time

well ive been bored and looking at tyre sizes as 175/50/R13 are a little small and if i were to lower it till i fill the arches i wouldnt be able to move! lol

so here are a few options

wheelsize3.png

wheelsize2.png

wheelsize1.png

what do you guys think????????

i think thats my prefered choice as it will increase the diamiter a little bit and fill the arches a little also seems a more common tire size!

however i will want tires with rim protectors as im still a little friendly with curbs haha

also you have to compare the wheels you have on your car now. Width aswell.
because it all makes a difference...

i know i know but there too small at the moment and too much arch gap and im already scraping at places so if i can increase the tyre size a little and i can then lower the tyre into the arch better! but there are plenty of tires out there and they seem to have rim protectors

Whatever size suits you, if you have rock hard suspension you will scrape less... meaning you can go lower. (Y)
these micra coilovers on the SR are the Shiz! Thankyou MCK!!

when i mean scrape im walking about the middle of speed bumps that my college put in!!!!!!

but tires arent my worries atm as i have loads of tread left

Sportex fitted today and the sound it makes is dreamy! I managed to also paint it before i fitted so no bare metal!

Managed to iron out all the little blows eventually and tweeked to make.it sit high so it cant scrape! :)
Also tail pipe sits perfectly in the bumper :)

And i done some ghetto arch rolling the rears and my dad ran my toe over in the process :-(

Anyone noticed the amount of condensation in these exhausts? As it smokes a little and spits alpt of vapour and it never did before! :-(

If you remember i founf zed's wig in my back box haha well the baffles! The old back box rattles like a maracas! Lol

right ive put my engine woe's to the back seat for now as it works for now so im getting on with other stuff!

after more driving with the sportex i have gained a couple of blows which i simply cannot get the exhaust to fit together enough while im under the car as its a tight fit! tomorrow im going to go to the garage and get them to put it on the ramp as this will be easier...

fitted my pulsar short shifter while i was there tonight but had problems getting the old one off but it came in the end!!

i removed the roller pin from the old lever and put it through the pulsar base and then as there is a nbig gap for side to side movement i cut part of the old bush down as a rough fitting to just smooth it out abit! although still a fair bit of play so i will make something up at a later date!

however ive heard people say about the buss with these things and ive found what it is and i believe its the pin through the middle is slightly too small causing the pin to vibrate on the shifter... if this is correct im going to look at getting a new pin machiened up for it
