if its thrust bearing squeal will, i drilled a big hole in my bellhousing and sprayed chainlube on mine :grinning:
 
is that such a good idea? lol frank any pics of the hole mate?

it was on bluey mate, but just for you......... i,ve done it to my current steed :p
(you can see the clutch cover, and just beyond it the thrust race)

heh im just checking... did you use a cone bit on that? or one of them boring bits???

then use some what motobike chain oil in a can with a straw?
 
well like me frank has no dusty covers around the gbox so im guessing not....

i will most likely make a small plate to screw over the top
 
btw dumb question but isnt a reamer the bit with the drill like bit in the middle and then bigger section around the edge? haha knowing my luck the bit would fall inside :p

and i could see a cone going into the pressure plate
 
right i am getting fed up with this god damn car!!!!!!!! i simply dont want it anymore... i think the g/box is on its way out at the input shaft bearings which would suggest its noise is loud etc and its getting louder even with the clutch depressed

which could suggest the noise when im foinf along as it sounds like straight cut gears all the time

so its either put my old gear box back on or get this one sorted or go for something different

maybe some sort of dog box but i dont really have the dosh to do that... and obviously there mainly for the 1.3 box so then id new neew shafts and linkage... light flywheel and a new clutch etc its a mickey take really

if this car doesnt get sorted and run soon im going to scrap the ######
 
also another rant... my dash lights have gone haywire again!

fuel comsumption is about 75 miles for £30 quids worth of petrol which is a rip off

i managed to sort the idle out i thought but came back this evening

now its sorted doesnt feel as rapid as it was before

ill be back with more im sure!
 
Well itss the input shaft so looks like ill be doing gbox soon! But if its floppin bout ill need to rrecenter clutch wont i?
 
check the sensors are in spec
coolant sensor
temp gauge sensor
and i got a few here you could try and a lamda ho too
 
well im going to need a new gear box any one have one? my other one was left out in the rain and is a mess and has a potential hole in it!!!!!!!!!!!

what options do i have???????????
 
well its been confirmed that the g/box is on its way out so ill be picking up the new box on wednesday to fit next week at some point

on a plus side hes going to run the consult software through to find any problems which could be causing my poor consumption

however on the plus side i fitted my amp and sub yesterday and its pretty sweet

Well im talking about my car r reg

The missus wont let me sell it let alone scrap it!

After the gbox is in and economy is sorted im gnna just drive it and not tinker so i have no problems!
 
well collected gear box today and all is well, done really good mpg going to oxford and back which im pleased with, low down power seems a little low, but maybe its because the noise from the gb ox putting me off haha

but all is going alright atm will be swapping them on monday hopefully i can manage it in the day haha and i will try my best.... i will also remove the clutch while im there just to check it and run some brake cleaner through it

anyone reckon ill get a little money for the gear box?

also MPH (Mat Humphries) is a very nice bloke showed me around the cars and all the goodies in the store room, felt odd nosing around a main dealer like that haha....

but i will getting a new air filter and spark plugs, and clean the tb again and seal it on with silicone!
 
I doubt this tbh. Mine didnt pass with just a middle cat (and it was an sr20 one). I dont think they get hot enough. but good luck.

only repeating what he told me, he said providing the engine is running right it will be fine, im still going to swap to the 1st cat just encase...
 
well the garage im going to will pass me as ill give them a discount on bodywork, even if they do fail it, i get 2 weeks to correct it
 
right monday is the day i hope the weather stays good going to have a small clean up and get busy with matt black hehe

but what is the honest back way to get the g/box in line

like lifting it up
jacking it up
lifting from above

i thinking get it inline twist till spline joins friction plate and then twist till it goes onto the dowels?

well heres a couple of pics of the new gear box :) it does look mint he even showed me the engine it came from which also looked mint indeed with a note on it saying do not remove any parts from this engine... then he can do a straight swap hehe

only just took it out my boot today haha... havent really been using my car as i simply dont want to drive it lol
 
not sure thats the correct gearbox mate.....you get it off a facelift?? and the facelift ones might be a straight fit. its defo different from the usual preface cg10/cg13 boxes
 
sorted now runs like a dream with a nice solid gear change over filled the oil a little so im wondering how i can loose a little without making a complete mess?
