The 1.3 Turbo Battle####

But alas no celebration until results and data is present. Off I go again. No timing gun :(

How do the plugs look? Any black smoke? Could the Wideband need calibration? (had to calibrate mine in clean air before it would work).

Yeah I figured as much.. I had a perfect afr when the two bolts were in done... Should I consider removing them for the mot now that's the question lol.

No black smoke but lots of condensation
Will check the plugs when I have eaten mat noodles

I think I would try to fix the problem. So the MAF and injectors are stock right?
If so u would check timing. Work investing in a timing light mate, they are like £20 and very useful!

It was a fail safe plan lol. I did have one but it bloody broke. Maf yes. Injectors no. They are the ford ones I think the ones you provided.

Still over fuelling. Gah! Just took it to the not guys to see it

so yeah nightmare. Does the lamda cause over fuelling if ****e?

25.5 degrees is too cold for a good reading, get it REALLY hot, say 90 degrees and it'll probably come down a smidge. Oversized injectors? Maybe it's worth borrowing the ones from your daily?

Are they top feed? Let's check

"Fast Idle Test
Engine speed 2500 - 3000 rpm
CO level = 0.18% (min = n/a, max = 0.20)
HC level = 13ppm (min = n/a, max = 200)
Lambda = 1.00 (min = 0.97, max = 1.03)

Natural Idle Test
Engine speed 450 - 1500 rpm
CO level = 0.05% (min = n/a, max = 0.30)"

Do you not have a cat fitted yet?

The cat is working fine. It's overfuelling

Oh I forgot you have a custom fuel rail... Maybe take the whole fuel rail and injectors off the daily ;)
The whole inlet mani would need to be changed.

Chris, you got a spare lambda sensor to try? If it's closed loop then imo that's a good place to start.

Sooooo yeah ed... I didn't see that post I was off changing the lambda, I questioned it a while back and forgot and then maz /Scott told me to swap it out,,, well done ed and well done Scott.. Here is a glory photo...

Well now to seal up the exhaust to get the HCarbons down and away we go. Mot tomorrow morning.

Good luck. Message me if you need an "MOT"

Sorry thank you :)

And @pollyp I just realised you told me to get data scan out and check the lambda... I didn't. If I had the issue would of been solved earlier. Sorry mate

the O2 can also be checked via "paperclip in diagnostic port" trick then start engine

I'd be happier with 14.3 volts, but that's being REALLY picky. My notverygoodwithmodernengines eyes doesn't see anything else bad

Got the AFR earthed to the engine yet?
No job after mot tomorrow I had to do some clever wiring to get the air bag light to come on and off with ignition and start. Fog lights now wired in. Need to plug up the exhiast with gun gum

Will do the exhaust when on ramp tomorrow. Easier plus they may have something better to use.

Waiting for Ed to get back to me about the ECU. Will ring after MOT is confirmed. Does he know how to wire up the s13 maf. Also injectors, would he be happy for me to do it all there?

ur O2 is really lazy n worn

it should be flicking bout twice per sec rather than once a sec

here's an old datalog but notice during closed-loop 2-3k rpm cruise my O2 oscillates and responds really fast

Does that do it on the non nistine ECUs . possible difference

for an auto electronics specialist of his experience n caliber, would've thought so :)
just need diagrams of the s13 and k11 and join the wiring dots.

dunno if s13 maf is the same as my gtir but I made my maf adapter loom here

all O2 should do that whatever the car.
the faster the sensor responds, the more consistent and stable the AFR reaches 14.7 for ideal emissions and economy.

as the sensor wears and the special metals depletes like in a cat, it starts to respond slower n weaker

Chris did you get my link re maf wiring? Also is it 3 wire and do you have the plug for it

Oh and what engine s13 did it come off?
Yes I did I read it all thru thank you. Sorry I have been **** at saying thank you and replying back. Just been a bit mad this end. It's 3 wire yes. I was just thinking ed may be kind enough to bump the injectors and maf in lol.
