Skinners Sprint Micra

Well today went well at the sprint, two slippy practice runs in the afternoon & I was marginally quicker than last year. Had a look over the in car footage for some tips, 3 runs tonight and I was 3 second quicker again! Chuffed with that :) pics and videos to follow over the weekend
Looking forward to video :D Nice one Skinner :)

How's the fueling now?

Alot better under WOT thankfully, though still a little rich but there are a few shims under the needle so removing them may help some what. The only issue seems to be going from high revs in 5th & closing the throttle the mixture them swops to very lean, even cut the engine a few times in testing! So tweaking to be done!

Quick pic from last week until i get time to sort the vid's etc Alot of pics with a back wheel in the air, good advert for Yoko!

awsome action pics.
the last pic would be a great poster pin up.
the 2nd last pic with the back wheel propping up looks as though its trying to be a dog that's about to pee on whoever's at the apex lol

It's as feisty as a puppy eh Paul :) once you all fixed I'm expecting you to get a few more laps of the TT course in!

indeed.
first things first is see if I can fix the damaged bigends and finish the breaking-in. once up n running I may have to skip the easy running (cos I did that for 2miles till it broke) and go straight into the medium load/rev procedure in countryside, load the rings hard to seal em while I can.

worst case is that the new rings don't bed in and forever keeps leaking oil into the cylinders, then its game over engine and resort to stockk :/

Wish you the best of luck with it Paul, I don't go too softly softly bedding the engine in, medium revs seemed to have worked well *** touch wood***

That's awesome skinner, please may I use that as my iPod wallpaper? That's too awesome :D.

Your onboard footage looks amazing - the car points exactly where you want it to go. Looks so smooth on track!

Yes please to the head modding pics, just paid half of the new engine which i will get in july, will be modding the head when i fit the cg10 head to a cga13 bottom end.

No problem :) the heads modified (ported , polished) already so il just measure up to have it skimmed, hopefully just bolt it straight on!

Though the cams will need setting properly as the blocks having a slight skim as well, with the crank polished / lightened and balanced
