Baguete ;
Yor are a great inspiration for many Micra owner , myself included and it alway is interesting to see what you are up to :)

Keep up the good work !

Its been a while since my last post, so its time to update my blog.

The engine doesnt drink any oil, but still bubbles on the expansion bottle, i will do a rebuild with new block and head from a 1.0.

I received a new NIStune software version, it eliminates the cutouts it had, now i do 7600rpm without problems or rpm cutouts.

For the ones who dont know, i went to UK to collect a Nissan March HK11, that Frank kindly collected on London (thanks for everything mate :p). I will not make a blog for the March, dont want to bring much attention to it. Meanwhile i started to repair some things on the SR. These are the steelies i bought from Frank (14" 6J):

I went to "shopping" and bought some stuff for the SR. Steelies with 5mm spacers (to fit GTi-R brakes):

Received some 3mm spacers, so the front wheels dont rub on the fender:

Tested the 3mm spacers on the front, with some camber it will fit nicely:

Rear shock tops will be opened to 12mm also:

The wheels are 1,5mm out of the fenders with 5mm spacers, with the 3mm spacers will be less, and with some rolled arches it will do.

The lower crossmember its 10cm from the ground, dont want to lower it more, otherwise it will scrape on everywhere.

Distance between the top of the wheel arch to the ground:

Front: 56cm
Rear: 58cm

Im thinking on using some arches like these:

Yes, i remember, but its not on its final fitment, i will try to get some camber bolts or something. And i was thinking on solder some washers on the shock so the hole its not oval, because the camber bolts wont fit right with that oval shape.

And i still have the matiz front springs, i will get some Civic springs. Slowly, but its going there...

BTW, did anyone used 20mm spacers on the rear? The rim will be centered or i must buy some spigots?

Are you running 14" steelies with GTI-R AD22VF brakes on the front baguete? If so did you require spacers in order to get clearance? I need to aquire a set of steelies I can stuff some slicks on for POD and the almera ones I have are hopeless for the job.....

Yes, GTi-R brakes with 14" 6J steelies, but the on the stock 14" steelies its the same thing about the clearence, its the zone where the holes are that hit the caliper...

I spaced the calipers with 2mm washer so the discs are centered with the calipers, maybe because of that the steelies foul on the calipers?

Manage to get the Civic springs, not much difference between the front and the rear ones, only 2mm.

Front Springs:
Small diameter side: 84,5mm
Big diameter side: 99mm

Rear Springs:
Small diameter side: 82,5mm
Big diameter side: 97mm

Well, im now confused... I dont know which is which. The thicker ones are the front springs?

Ones are 10mm and the others 11,6mm.

yes, same as mine then, the rears are 10mm, which are the same as the matiz but they give a firmer ride somehow
and my rover/honda fronts are 12mm ish and are quite firm, but they cut your bodyroll to zero  (you try them, they,re awesome!)

Ok, copy that mate. (Y)

I think i will try both and choose the ones that i like more  How may coils to stay, 7/8?

BTW, manage to get another set of Civic springs from other guy, just waiting for them to be posted on Monday, if i screw this ones, i will have other set to mess with...

the phat ones need to be minimum length (but still captive) because when you lower the jack they dont sink at all lol  and my 10mm have about 40mm of preload iirc (but dont forget mine is about 760kg,s tho eh)

Yeah, i need to put my SR on a diet

I will test them with all the coils, and then start to cut coils and check how it goes. Thanks again mate. :wasntme:

Trial fitted some stuff today:

Got some "new" parts:

Got another set of Civic Springs:

IMG_0012-20.jpg

Tested the civic springs with only 8 coils, still high on the front, the rear are spot on.

And i ordered this:

caliperbrackets.jpg

Cutted more 2/3 of a coils, just what i wanted, same distance from ground to arch on both front and rear. And still confortable. Just need some camber bolts to finish the suspension setup.

Hey baguete what year are the civic springs from?

Dont know mate, but they are from any of this civics: EJ6 EJ8 EJ9 EK3 EK4

@baguete

wery curious about ; " and i ordered this "....

Some kind of bracket to fit some special brakes ?

they convert rear drums into rear disc caliper carrier mounts

Thats right... But those are for front calipers to be installed on the rear, i will try to make some different ones so i can install N16 rear calipers.

ah i have seen them brackets on eBay for £15 was wondering if they would be worth it. i will keep myself glued to your thread (Y)

Well, i ordered them just to see how they fit on the axle (they are cheap), and see what i need to make some new ones, so i can install N16 rear calipers (114mm between the center of the holes), not the stock Micra front ones (140mm between the center of the holes).

Nice mate i want to do this too want to low so much :p

Lower it mate, its worth it, the handling is amazing. I loved the Ventura -35mm springs, but this Matiz/Civic suspension is very good too. And the Corsa setup will be even better, i will try them all...

Started to take care of the "new" block/head, looks better than the stock ones:
