WDID ? cut the 90 deg bend off the latest TD05, and bashed some chequer-plate into a ram-air/GA16 panel filter housing thingy (and had it welded on

Did you turn the engine over by hand with a ratchet first chris? If not do that first then if thr timing is out it will lock up and shouldn't cause damagegot the timing wrong! Will repair tomorrow!

i thought you had read my blogs, 5 minute job that slackens the lower chain, and tightens the upper one i left the small tensioner off too, (depending on how worn the chains are)Had to shorten the lower timing chain after the block skimmed 3mm (micra piston), took out one link but now the chain is to tight so tomorrow will see the tensioner getting modified a bit

ahh, my bad are they new chains ?Yep I've read it and lowerd the idler but it's still to tight, but Ive looked at the tensioner and it doesn't go all the way in so it will get modified slightly.
barely run in then ehPretty much done about 10k, had to leave off the little tensioner, will get pics later
