Popped into my local engine tuning garage today and enquired about a re-map. Nope, waste of time they said on an engine that small.
Ok, what about putting a turbo on her, yep do that ok.......be between £4k and £5k......really....see ya again - not.
Hi the pipe was off eBay 10 pounds each and IC cost 60 pounds of eBay, think ur IC is biggerlooks like the same IC as mine. where was it sourced from?
I spoke to Fusion earlier this year and Ed said it would be 2.5k to 3k for full turbo setup. Less if some stuff was done yourself like fitting new clutch and new ECU.Popped into my local engine tuning garage today and enquired about a re-map. Nope, waste of time they said on an engine that small.

For the turbo set up....no chance.4-5k for just the ECU & remap?
or 4-5k for the complete turbo hardware conversion & remap?

Thats what I thought. For example: megasquirt ms2 ecu with quadspark to drive the coilpacks £300. Clutch £400. Turbo eg CT9 £150. Custom exhaust £600. Mapping and installation make up the rest. So you see quite a lot can be sourced to save money. Not bad methinks.
Got a linky? I've heard about that car but never seen it.jas said on his cg10+t roxy blog that it owed him 12k eh !

this ^ and you end up with a car that no-one will insure, may as well just buy a factory 2.0T hatchbackMapping is the most expensive part, yes you could have a 2.0 put in for £1500 but you'd have to do a lot of the work yourself I.e source donor car, prep both cars
Go to any reputable garage that deals with conversions and you'd be talking £5/6k
Am saying this coz I done it my self, donor engine and all parts from the engine didn't cost 400 pounds, Ecu mapped cost 30 pounds, @frank your right there it's insurance main bit because I was lucky and changed the engine number over and cc on log book i been quoted 1400 pounds with 9 years NCB a build to fight over sr20Mapping is the most expensive part, yes you could have a 2.0 put in for £1500 but you'd have to do a lot of the work yourself I.e source donor car, prep both cars

I agree with u the fact is if it's done right on log book and told insurance on all the mods and u can pay the extra cost who caresIf you want cheap insurance kit cars are the way to go, after all they're home built so any modifications are just part of the car and not viewed as money making cows by the specialist insurance companies.
Buy it Dave. Yolo.I was offered a Jaguar XJ8 4.0 litre V8 on a V plate with 40k on the clock, in black, and very good condition For £3K yesterday.
