I am really curious as to what other micra owners are paying for insurance.

Like this

Age: 19
Model: k11/shape
Engine size:1.0
NCD:8
Named driver(yes/no): yes
Paying: £852

What are you paying? Personally myself as main drive i was getting covered at £3000+ which i did not see a viable for the micra so became named and drive it on weekends and dad drives it rest of the time.

I seriously would not pay more then £1300 for insurance on a micra, I'd rather wait untill it is lower (next year possible) what about you?

Assuming NCD = No Claims Discount, how can you have 8 years when you are only 19?

Im quite lucky for insurance I have my dad as a main driver and Im named.

Age: 20
Model K11 Inspiration
Engine Size: 1.3
NCD 20+ on my dad 0 for me

His insurance a month was £28 a month, putting me as a named driver made it up to £39 so I just pay £11 a month. I think i did a dummy quote on the internet and it was £1400.

Now with quinn i pay just over £900 on a 1.6 primera, age 20 and 2years ncd

I think most people will answer this question with too much, I pay more on insurance than my car is worth, it'd probably be cheaper to pay the fine for no insurance than to pay for insurance.

So true and i think that's everyone's thoughts, why should i pay 1k per year when i could drive without insurance and get a fine less than half that. Ridiculous.

I'm with e-car insurance, and was with e-bike on my moped. One of the only companies that actually take my 1 year 'carefull' biking into account!

im with e car insurance i think its great i havnt been passed long but mine is £1061 and am 21 my mate has a 1.4 punto gt and he is only payin 1500 and thats with other mods added and declared

You lot should try getting modified motor trade insurance, and then say your working with some imports and they all get very scared on the phone...

Who are you with?? I must live in the crappest area in england because i am now 19 with 0 no claims and i am unable to get anything sub £1300. Thats why i am sticking to named driver until around 20-21 possibly.

Wanted to get a PS13 2.0 SR20DE N/A. The car would have cost me £1400 but insurance with myself as main driver at the moment is £2400 so can't really justify it. The car isn't fast or anything but just looks good, i guess i'll wait about 1 year and see how it is then.

Age: 18

Named driver with my Dad with RAC,cheapest company at the time and i was desperate for car insurance lol

Its interesting to know why some of you have gone fully comp. Do you expect to cause a crash?

yer i'm third party only, its not worth the different in insurance cost wen the car's only worth a couple of hundred pounds!

Age: 19
Model: K10, L
Engine size:1.0
NCD: 1
Named driver(yes/no): Yes
Paying: £540

That's insured for business use like.

It's not about expecting to cause a crash lol, some peoples cars cost more than their excess so would like them repaired in the event of a crash.

For comparison I just did two quotes on an Almera GTi
Fully comp with £250 voluntary excess: £660
Third Party, Fire and Theft: £545

The difference isn't really that much these days, and once when I did fully comp the price actually went down!

I'm sure when your SR20 conversion is done you'll want fully comp with Sky Insurance to cover all those mods!

It's more about the piece of mind than anything else, and for only another £100 you get your car fixed too should the unthinkable happen!

£1000ish

PS : yes you read right £2500

i went fully comp cuz my car is worth considerably more than my insurance policy.

and who is playing with my posts?

Yeah i'd want fully comp on my car when it's done, as the value will shoot right up, however at present, my third party policy has no excess!

When i was hit by the drunk driver, they gave me the car back. They said if i was fully comp, i'd have had to of bought it back! and they gave me hardly any money for it in the first place.

Fully comp on a cheap car - waste of money.

egherm............ marks and spencer..... £320 fully comp.. haha
22 driving 2 years, no claims, living in beruit (or basra nowadays) and with all mods declaired..

i love having a micra..lol

Yes i use E-Car and they took the no-claims of my 125 bike, they're pretty cheap as well, i got a quote on an MR2 for £786 which is pretty ace considering i'm 20 with only 1 year no claims... everywhere else said at least 2 grand!

M&S accept mods now? They didnt when I asked for a quote...

a little fib goes a long way!

Age: 18
Model: k11/shape
Engine size:1.0
NCD:1 - They included my learning :)
Named driver(yes/no): No. Registered owner/keeper
Paying: £<£850

Quinn Direct ;)

highly recommended. You can get alloys for no extra cost on insurance!! So I am told... :)

I'm on about K10's though! Insurance wise, they're worth about £300 tops. Newer K11's and older it's worth it, the same for your car, but anything with no real value isnt

But isn't your health worth it?

What's health got to do with being fully comp? If your not responsible for the crash, your medical bills would be covered by the other party!

Age: 24

Model: K11 Face lift S

Engine size:1.0

NCD: 0 (driving for years, never had own policy)

Named driver(yes/no): Registered owner, keeper and main driver, with +1 on my husband who has 4yr no claims discount on the primera. 4000 mileage limit too as i wont drive more than that.

Paying:Fully comprehensive with low low excess's £558 (BUT thats with an 8% interest charge on it for paying it over the year in 12 instead of 1 for the both of us, with the car ungaraged and parked on the road.

Husband is only paying a little bit more for himself on his 2.0 primera with mods declared and the cars garaged, licence 8yr, 4yrs ncb
