The 1.3 Turbo Battle####

out/anticlock chris :)
Good man ta frank. I am having issues with the car dying for some reason on coming to a stand. I think it's a possible map issue. Need to keep her idling high I guess, she sounds like she is lope idling lol. Still 500/800 rpm

Oh **** I got my bloody USB cable already in with data scan.... Durrrrrrrr. Frank... Wat would I do without you. It's been that long since I played with the car haha

Ill find that MC out. That'll cure it
Mine near on put me through the windscreen with the slightest touch :p
Love you long time. Yeah I can't throw the car as hard as I like to. The double peddling and when she is hot it makes have less faith. :( hard life rite

Aye I know what you mean. Confidence in a car is everything

Did you resolve that gear linkage issue?
Yeah I have to know what the cars doing, I don't have that with the way it is. I need to have the car putting me through the windscreen when needed. That's the point of brakes lol.

Yeah red locktite. Cars quite happy ATM. I might be paying more attention to handling /braking now lol

I always sat handling over power ;)

Gotta be a good deep one :p fords are the best ones ;)

You mean like this from the weekend - standard OEM Almera 1.4 vented discs.

Didn't get a look at the cars :( this time! Bumpers are over rated mate. Don't know if you got the memo or not.

Yeah, Matt told me you don't have one lol.

Basically, anything with any sort of pedigree ends up at Matts. I took a look at the 237bhp white K11 turbo which was in bits having new hoses fitted, the ex Mayes' red wide arch shell is back there again and the ex Glen Campbell wide arch car is also there being breathed on.

The gimbert one. Was close to buying that. I decided building myself was a better idea how wrong I was. Do they just sell and then get sold back

It's a pretty well put together car actually, (had a good old poke around). I'll never like the boost control setup though...

The major upside to that car is that Elite Racing Transmissions now offer both full dog and helical gear packs for the CG boxes at very reasonable prices, even with bespoke ratios, since the current owner has busted so many.

Re: Bought & Sold. A lot of the time, yes. Things are bought and sold on pretty quickly and Matt is usually the person who ends up as the facilitator due to his wide field of contact. I am not sure why exactly, but it is probably down to finances and/or practicality.

£2k plus is the gear set

Yup. IIRC it's £1500+vat for a basic ratio box and £1800+vat if you want specific ratios to your needs. They offer both in straight dog engagement as well as uprated helical gear sets now too, which use the original synchros and selector rings.

Prices are competative as they have to appeal to the junior rally groups and a £3k+ price tag isn't someting which works.

All gear sets are 1st-5th and utilise the stock CWP.

that depends on what you define as "better" tho chris :) if you mean easier then maybe, but look at what you,ve learned during this build :)
built not bought innit ?
Yeah I suppose, didnt think I was ever going to get this far with the knowledge side of things.

*say built not bought I will hurt you :D true, much nicer knowing I changed every nut and bolt.
