Project March ANK11 4x4 GTiR

Well, there is always a way. But I'm hope I don't need to do that.
I can adjust the coilovers if I need.. Or I can mount the steering-arms up side down
in the hubs by drilling up the hole, and make a new bushing to make the cone
in the bolt-hole in the hubs go the other way ..

Don't worry. I like some inputs and ideas.. ;) And it keeps my thread active aswell..
And it keeps my garage-working-spirit up ..

very smart idea with re-drilling the hubs, here's another idea, if you are drilling them, why not drill the hole further up the arm, maybe half way. then you would have sharper steering too, maybe 3 turns lock to lock? and you can always go back to the original holes if it doesn't work out.

and i am glad you are ok with the input and not thinking that i am trying to direct your project, its going really well and i cant wait to see it move for the first time!

and when you get to the loom, let me know, maybe i can come up and strip back the GTiR loom, i am pretty sure i can cut it back to just the engine loom, i have done similar things with the micra.

Brilliant! I can't see why I can't drill new hole further up on the arms.. ;)

When it comes to the wiringloom, I'll let you know if I need some help.. Thanks.

Todays work! 1 of 4 finished! I think it looks great!

So, what do you think?

looking great can't wait to see it on the car!

i was wondering if you would be willing to give up your fuel tank and loom from the car? if you are not using them?

Yo, just read through the progress it's looking really good man!
I'm thinking of doing something similar myself and I've had trouble finding anyone who'd done it before, this has given me some excellent insight!
Keep us posted want to see some more =D

NeX: haven't decided if I'm giong to use the fueltank yet.. Probably not, but not shure.
But the March K11 loom is not going to be use by me, so it's al yours if you want it.

awesome! what i really wanted was the little key remote, it needs the loom to work, but yea i could trade you some interesting things, i can give you a full lock set and a blank nismo key if you like?

Sorry, there isn't anything happening here ATM, I spend a lot of hours and money on getting my boat ready for the summer.
But I've got a set of new GTiR ball joints, I'm going to mount on the micra arms.. Hopefully during the easter holiday..

Took of one of the wishbones yesterday to start planning how to fit the GTiR ball joints to fit the ANK11 wishbone.

ANK11 wishbone, with old ANK11 , and new GTiR balljoint .. ANK11 balljoint is 34,2mm and GTiR are 39,2mm

Anyone got a smart idéa for how to fit GTiR balljoint to ANK11 wishbone?
1: Cut of the end of the GTiR wishbone, and weld is to the ANK11 wishbone?
2: Make a bigger hole in the ANK11 wishbone, and weld on a new ring with 39,2mm hole?
3: Don't got any more ideas yet, but if you have one, please tell!

i think number 2 idea is the easiest, just drill out the hole and weld in a ring that fits the GTiR ball joint.

is there any way to make the GTiR wishbone fit the micra?

if you did cut the end off the micra wishbone and weld on the GTiR one, you could also use that to extent the track width so it matches the rear wheels. this is similar to what Matt H does with the wide track rally cars. i have a set of extended wishbones and they are just cut and shut with a bit more metal to re-enforce them

Do you have a picture of the extended wishbones? And I could maybe the the right width so I don't need cut my drive-shafts as well.. Maybe..?

i don't know if the extended wishbones will be exactly right for the GTiR width, but its worth a try.

i will get some pics for you tomorrow, but also i could bring them up if i am going to the nissan meet.

How to make adjustable arms:

Probably not the best way, but I think it's a easy and cheap way to fix a problem..
I may buy real aftermarked adjustable gti-r arms later, but I don't have time/money for that right now.

great idea though you have to unbolt them to adjust them which will be horrible when they are rusty, but still very neat!

Theres only one bolt I need to remove, and when I made these it took me 30min to do it all.
And the car is 12 years old, and I'm only going to use it on track, so I don't think it would be a problem.

i will get pics :) just really busy at the moment and they are behind loads of other stuff because i didn't think i would need them for a few years lol

sorry for the late reply! here are the pictures of the extended wishbones, they are really crappy pics, but its hard to photograph black things without decent light, but i hope they are of some help

awesome, where are the other mounts on the pulsar engine then? if you shake the engine does it hit anything?

2 on gearbox onto chassis leg, which are load bearing
1 on timing end which is load bearing
1 front and rear which arent load bearing

Yepp.. It's heavy. But it doesn't move when I try to push it.. But I still haven't found all mounts in polyurethan..
Someone know where I can get number 3 and 26?

ah wow so most of the mounts are on the gearbox then. i was looking at a "complete" poly bush set for the pulsar on ebay, i don't know if it has the ones you want though.

but i think those ones (3 and 26) are not load baring they are more torque dampeners, it would probably be fine without them at all if the others are so stiff. i think you should invest in a torque dampener that attaches to the strut tower.

i wouldnt bother with them, that standard ones are fine, you can remove them and the engine wont move, just move a little more when in motion
