Project Firefly

Ok dug out some more pictures, I've got a ton of pictures still on the camera so will take a bit of time to dig it out.

As for the work I'm actually starting up a new garage that does mods and I've a Honda mechanic and another lad. I've also a partnership with a sprayer who's renting out a section of the premises for his spray booth. I cant really advertise on here as I'm sure that'll be breaking some forum contract. :) but once we get going I'll be-able to diverge more info.

He is not using the unit pal its HIS

He is investing in the business

Hopefully will be doing all sorts

More to honda's tbh as there is not a big market in Nissan

Ok been a while since I've posted so finally got round to getting the SR20DE into the firefly and she sound sweet. Heres a video with the engine sound on idle. i was to excited to give it a spin i forgot to video it on the industrial estate lol. I'll have a video next week when I get the coil overs fitted.

Decided to go for red cam cover over the white one like Mov's in the end :)

You know what its like Mov work gets in the way as always :D

Cheers Peposhi, went for Honda Championship white instead of brilliant white and had the alloys blown over as well. The cam cover was sprayed with Honda flame red or something like that cant remember off the top of my head.

Oh yea swapped someone the black repeaters for their standard ones which i think works better than black.

Ooh nice projectors, I'll looking into them in the new year but first I need to get the stuff under the bonnet running right. It's a little rich (even though im liking the pimp popping from the exahust :p ) so need remapping so want to look into a big dyno run. Also looking into getting the coil overs fitted tomorrow so I'll take some pics of them n post em up.
 
New all in one key system with boot release and remote central locking... only issue was it took me 4 key cutters before someone would cut the key for me!
Timpsons key cutter bloke: "Sorry we dont cut them type of keys here"
Me: "So why you got picture of car keys on your wall?"
TKCB: "We only cut our own ones"
Me: "How much is that then?"
TKCB: "We charge £125"
Me: "Ermm ok thank for your help... bye"

The local key cutter was giving me funny looks as if i stole an Escort XR3i and blagging him to cut me a key :D Though I think it was his responsible face, as he still cut it for me 2 for £10

I had one of them for a while, make sure you tighten up the screws every so often as mine worked loose and broke.
 
Cheers for the info joe, was it the screw that held the actual key? Seems fine on mines as can only access if key Is flicked 1/2 way out.
 
I'm back :) been mad busy with work so not had a chance for an update. Gonna try and get a video uploaded but youtube is playing up tonight. So you'll have to do with some photo's instead of my new nismo badge and coilovers (soz forgot to take close up of coilovers) :)

flippin love your headlights, been considering joeying mine but never seen the late k11c ones done that way, you have convinced me, excellent work, shes a gem

Cheers mate, ooh your in the NE aswell be good to see what your doing mate, they're a lot of sr20de up and coming which is great as its an engine that was missing when i had my brand new off the showroom K11 1.3SR back in the 90s :D

Funny enough the wald kit was designed in the 90s, its like all good things from Japanese like thundercats and pokemon from the 90s :D so its the look i was after :)

The Alloy's are rotas sprayed championship white to match the body work.

4. take cool pic.

Been meaning to take some photos of the car with nice setting rather than just where it happen to be for a while Guy :) I'll send them your way when i get a chance to do a proper photo shoot. I'll make sure we do a shoot next time I'm down mov we're nomally to busy looking under the bonet to worry about taking pics lol

Cheers Davey, its taken with a tilt shift lens (look em up crazy lens) its like old school 10x8 large format camera on a 35mm. So no Photoshop used :)
 
I know what they are haha, you kinda twist and bend the lens body too change the focus area.
Look awesome.

Hey Guy I'll get some photo's for you soon I promise :) Ondras it's great with an SR20DE your mpg wil be around 45-50 to the gallon or 20mph if you driving it hard :D and good fun.

Well the next step is coming up insurance have been informed and my premium is going up. I'll upload some pics very soon on what I have in mind next. I'm sure most of you can guess :D
 
Hi Ollie from Sky Insurance, cheers for sorting out the insurance for the next part of the project :)

So shes pass her MOT for another 12 months with the SR20DE engine in had a ton of hassle with the custom polo coilovers as the MOT place was very picky about them, so had to go back 3 times till they where satisfied which is great cos it means it'll go in a straight line HAHA

Seeing I have a 12 month pass to do what I like again this is whats going on.

Lots of jigging and poking of the car to get the intercooler in.

ok its all in now and its running nicely very smooth up the gears and dam its got more power than i imagined, currently set on 5psi. The Nistune ECU plugged in with no issues. Dont really want to rag it around till i get it on the dyno to check on the air/fuel mixture.

Boost gauge is currently taped infront of the speedo till i figure out where I'm going to mount it. Was thinking pillar mount or to the right side of the speedo cover. I do like i being infront of the speedo and it looks fair cool :D but it blocks out the mileage display. any suggestions?

I'll be looking into a dyno in the next couple of weeks just to check the air/fuel mixture. dont want to be melting any pistons :)

I've been driving around google maps :D (well saves on petrol) and think I've found a place for a good photoshoot which I'll try and get some arty pics done next week.
 
so your the guy who owns this.. Mines the other white micra being converted just to SR20 though :( but apparently he says yours is about 260bhp! so would be mental! :) took a pic of mine last night with urs in the background :)

Hey Andy_S, my championship white k11 is so different when u put your brilliant white next to it :D Once you've got your done you wont regret it mate even with just an SR20 its mint and can easily over take just about anything on the open road.

Get a passenger ride out on in an Ariel Atom V8......that'll give you a better definition of rapid. I highly recommend a change of underwear and a sick bag if you are easily ruffled ;)
