Porks bike carbs and boost project

Was jus having trouble getting chain on one of the cam sprockets, then realised it helps if I took cam out then put sprocket on chain then back on cam,
Live and learn ay!

post a pic of the lobes at tdc when you,ve done neil :)

Just so I'm not being stupid....as I've never done this before.......I've lined up marks on chain, turned engine round a few times......how many revs till the marks line up on the sprockets again?

Engine turns round fine without anything catching....so I presume everything is ok

the coloured links shuffle round a bit each time you turn the engine eh neil, you would have to work it out mathematically :p

Pfft, no chance right now :D

If I put chain on in right place, and it turns over fine, it should be ok....right? Lol

looks ok to me mate :) you could double check by gauging when the lobes touch the buckets on the other tdc (the overlap, where all 4 valves are slightly open at once)
there should be about 20 deg either side of tdc (40 deg of overlap)
i test by seeing if the bucket will turn freely, then it tightens as the lobe makes contact :)

Cool, il check that too.

Was doing loads of google searches on how to do this, your name comes up everywhere :D.....so thanks

That looks like a proper way to do things

I did take loads off pictures........but didn't save when I got replacement phone!

Aaah problems!

I've bought this flywheel, but the clutch doesn't fit it,

The flywheel is off a cg10, and clutch is for a cg10 too, but the clutch bolt holes don't match the flywheel.

Which bit is wrong for my build?!?

Depends... is it a 160mm clutch? If its a 180mm clutch you have a later model cg10 which won't fit :)
If it is a 160mm clutch your flywheel is wrong

I have a 160 mm clutch, so the flywheel is wrong ?

Can I modify the larger clutch to fit the flywheel and my gearbox?

Correct... I think the ring gear is on the wrong side too on the later ones?
If not... it is possible to modify the flywheel but you have to pretty precise

This is what I have on now,

As I've never seen either fly before, I wasn't sure what I was looking at, I asked for a flywheel from the years I was after and he said this was it :(

Dam!

So, should I try and return this to a rather mental scrap man, or what can I do about clutch?

I wouldn't recommend re drilling for the clutch.
I'd say get the larger clutch but I cant be sure it will work for you. Thats a frank question

aye the dish is too deep (not enough throw on the clutch arm, or slack in the cable)
wrong spline
starter/ring-gear mesh issues
and the diaphram fingers wont contact the smaller thrust bearing

Double dam :(

Anyone want a flywheel then?

Doubt il be able to return it as he was quite clear on his refund policy :(

Jus spoke to them over the phone, he has a micra that he's willing to break for the flywheel......if I buy gearbox too :D

Done me there!

I do want a 5 speed......so I guess I might have to do it!

What checks can I do to make sure it's the right one?

From what I've gathered, the cg10 pre f/l box is the same as the k10 , so the drive shafts and mounts will bolt up the same?

Is this correct?

If not, I won't get it

Eeeerrerruuugghhhh

It's the wrong box, it's from a cg13 !

So gunna get original flywheel refunded too

So still need a flywheel !!!! :(
