pad carriers?

turbo diesel with powers? sounds rich:)

Fixed my daily, It turned out to be a simple fuse, for the damned interior light, But the cars all working now and I reconnected the current sound system with a bit of added safety, Then went for a long drive with the pleasure of a working dash cluster, and good sound :)

I de stripped my little one

had one last photoshoot with some good friends wednesday and done a bad thing and sold her saturday.... was so sad to see her go i broke down into tears, one of the hardest things ive ever done getting rid of my first car! she was my pride and joy haha, BUT only because in the morning before i went and bought myself a K10! couldnt turn it down as i know the last 2 out of 3 owners, its only 50k miles, ridiculously clean, not a dent on it, interior is spotless and she drives like a dream, staying standard for a while but no doubt ill get bored soon enough as i always do, already started by swapping to a pre face steering wheel ;)

@12h when bleeding the pulsar brakes do I need to do anything for brake pedal will the travel be lower then stock which I have heard ?

to be honest azzy i really didn't have any difference in peddle travel as for bleeding i usually start with the n/s/f if the rears have not been disturbed you can adjust the peddle height with the 10 mm bolt on top of the peddle polly p has a thread about it somewhere JUST MAKE SURE YOU GET ALL THE AIR OUT or the peddle will feel spongey longer travel etc andy

Think that was the almera gti ones had longer travel if used with micra master cylinder the pulsar ones were fine i think, something to do with almeras having two pots or something?? :s

gti / pulsar /v22 almeras nx 100 are all the same caliper arent they ?? single piston sliding caliper i think its the discs that are larger / vented theres were the stopping cooling power isand were the braking power is gti etc have a larger bore piston which uses more fluid behind it thats why the peddle travel is longer

I just remember readin something like that on here, probably wrong i dont know haha

if you have a bigger piston on the caliper say 75 mm on the micra then you switch to gti which have say 125 mm piston you displace more fluid from the master to push said piston that why the brake peddle has more travel to solve this you use a bigger master cylinder ie primera gti it takes workto do this mind again polly p has done this or something simular using a diffrent master

My brother was in car pressing the brake pedal in and out about 20 times getting all the air out when he pushes in all the way down I lock the nipple ? @frank are u using the same set up ?

try pumping the peddle to floor un lock nipple squirt then lock nipple theres air in there i did mine for 10 mins peddle good as new

peddle down unlock lock peddle up repeat

Azzy... Frank is working on diesel astras now, he sold his white micra. Not sure how often he checks this forum anymore

Yep that's the correct way of doing it.
I do: unlock, peddle down, lock, release pedal
Doing it like this will sort it I'm sure :)

dont un lock till the peddle is down or air will get in the system
Yeh my brother was pumping the brakes when it was locked then when I unlocked the nipple he was pressing till most of air is out then pedal on floor then I locked it

I use one of those none return bleed valves but I suppose if your just using a bit of tubing then it could :)
Am using tubing with brake fluid to cover the tube 2 inch so air can't get it, but am gona try this again and see if it clears

You've got the calipers installed on the wrong side of the car Azzy.

Bleed nipple needs to be at the top in order to allow the air to vent, as below. Should make things much easier with gravity on your side :)

plus the marking "R" (right hand)

has the guide pins been lubed with rubber grease to keep em sliding smoothly?

Yeh that was all done am using copper grease

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

don't use copper grease, wd40, oils or any petroleum based lube on rubber seals cos it gets absorbed into the petroleum based rubber making it slowly swell up permenantly over time till it binds & dries up (uneven wear from binding guide pins), which then makes removal & reassembly slightly more difficult next time.

suggest using non petroleum grease like silicone paste or red rubber grease or stuff labelled for rubber
