The 1.3 Turbo Battle####

Braided HEL brake lines ordered. Light blue and sorted for the front and back.. So it looks like we have rear disks after all :D

Not kidding. Look just like my old 100nx kit
What big jobs are left?
Engine and all that. Bleed the brakes when hoses arrive. Massive task of seats in.. Well most of the hard graft on that has been done I think. Andy reckons 5 more hours. Getting the loom back in and what not. AFR. Touch up the inside of shell paint. A few more bits somewhere in there.

...so not a 5 minute job then?..
but... light at the end tunnel ;)

That was me, but once theres some CO2 for it I'm determined to get chris doing some welding, just don't tell him, it'll be a surprise for wednesday!

you mean this stuff I bought today ?

Tis like de javu or a bad echo
Simple nut and plate will cure it :) at least your exhaust is out the way... at least I think it is :p
Just about.. There is a heat shield anyway. Will find a way round it.. Well andy will lol. Serious props to the bloke. Would of got there in the end with a lot of mistakes if started by myself. Andy has streamlined it and is giving me a good chance of getting done for jae. He has taught me a lot of stuff too. I don't really come across many people who have experience. So I don't get to learn new techniques

Easy.. chop a 50mm section out the heat shield ;)

If your taught right.. you'll learn right :) I've every faith in the fact he's taught you right. Otherwise you go off, try, probably fail and get irritated and jack it in. At least I used to anyways.

Tis a shame I can't lend a hand. Maybe I'll make a special trip over one day ;)

You WILL be at JAE

Note I never give in... This blog shows it lol. Well u just don't care. That's why you not coming to help! I want to speak to you about some cage options BTW. Yeah he is teaching me well. Chop a section out the heat shield? What for?

To make room for plates and nuts... unless you intend taking it off and replacing it afterwards
That's a very valid point. Well you are miles away arent you.

Sure feel free :) is this a before JAE cage idea or after?

Ok Chris, just mark out and drill the holes for 2 more plates. Or 3 and have a go at welding one up yourself?

Ah I am with you now. I think there is a bit of space to work with. We shall see! Yes I suppose there are many miles.

After jae my friend. Got any drawings and rough ideas on prices?

My god you can actually see through it haha amaziballs. Can't wait to have a go with welding with the helmet. Its sat in the sun ATM. Its a solar polar one. No batteries woop well probs built in anyway.

Chris your really cracking on with this now I'm impressed :D
That welding mask is gonna help you no end too :)
That other picture... milk and tea bags... might just tempt me over :p

Why thank you. I love it when I get nice comments from the higher powers of car modders on here :D #girlymoment

Yeah I figured it would. I was more focused on making sire the job is easy for andy. His help is invaluable so I need to make sure everything is sorted for him.

Well get ur ass over man

Also easy for you too. Tis a cheats way out to learning to weld but as long as you can wels it don't matter eh.
Aye making it easier for him means he can get done quicker and get other bits done too ;)

I shall plan a trip at some point

Just tried tigging the nuts to the plates and can't get a thick enough weld, will have to mig it at yours...
Mig ftw... you saw that coming

Mig ftw... you saw that coming
If we had the collet to hold the bigger tungsten bita I could up the current and get a decent sized weld pool going, but with the tiny size we got the heat at the tip just burns the sharpness off and then I get massive arc wander. In this case, MIG FTW lol.
