The 1.3 Turbo Battle####

Anchorman_well_that_escalated_quickly_966.jpg

In 2 days we managed to:

Refit all the exhaust manifold studs
Fit buckets to rails
Fix the fact that Kris' gas bottle regulator wasn't letting gas through
Weld new floor mounting brackets to the rails with only argon as by the time we got the gas flowing the C02/argon had ran out and that's all we had to hand
Off-road our lowered cars
Explode a horse trailer spare wheel

Not bad.

Sorry I haven't been very good at chatting on here guys. I promise I will go in to detail at some point. I seem to be just photo dumping ATM. Been banging on with the help of andy and Joe over the last few weeks. Seats soon yo go in. Andy is leading the charge with the seats props out to him and thank you.. That boy knows his ****. Joe has just built the entire car up to when andy turned up.. I reckon andy has now been passed the baton.

rear axle in 100% now just need brake lines. Rear adjustable height and damper coilover fitted on the rear now. Will be getting in the front hubs and all other braking and suspension goodies today. Seats on Wednesday. I may start getting things in the engine bay also. Going to make some engine lifting brackets tonight I think. Anyone know where I can bolt them to the head? Any particular holes anyone would recommend.

And was there none before andy turned up eh?
Ok... good to see MORE progress. Picky get

You can extend the front right engine mount with a simple hoop.
The other I'd put at rear right. Look for some threaded holes to attach another loop to :)

Are we talking about the right engine mount when sitting in the car.

Yea that's fine mate. Should be threaded hole on side. Have a quick look :)
I've a cg engine kicking about I'll look at that. Get some pics and cardboard mock ups when I'm home.
Have a quick flick through my blog find my engine pic.. that should give you an idea :)

dont forget to tighten up bushment when cars on its own weight.
Yeah man. Just to get them kind of right to get her down to get mot'd I jacked the axle until the car came slightly off the axle stands placed under the shell. That should get them slightly right eh?

Its ok chris i did a set of brakes at work put it back together left the disc off and was about to put thr wheel. Back on lol

I see Andy's doing a fantastic job while Joe's on holiday ;)

...Love you Chris...you're a great cameraman :p

...Edit:...Seriously though ...awesome progress...whoever held the welder ^_^
That was me, but once theres some CO2 for it I'm determined to get chris doing some welding, just don't tell him, it'll be a surprise for wednesday!

Well up for welding.. Just not when the welding could be the difference between going through the window on impact or staying happily in the inside of the car lol

It's ok, I won't let you leave it with bad welds on the car. Welds can always be ground out and redone after all. Was thinking the other seat rail tbh.
