The 1.3 Turbo Battle####

Haha brilliant. I'm fortunate enough to have a workshop to take mine to if its quiet enough. Otherwise I put the gazebo up on the drive.
On my car I used to get things, rush it together and then end doing it again taking twice as long... no I'm just a fussy pedantic ass :D
I could clean my house all day... but with 2 kids there's no point. So I stick to 'untidy is ok, unclean isn't'. Which will be fun to keep to when I start tiling... not amused
At least you've moved somewhere for the long term :) I'm in a mid term place until I can afford the home I wanna retire in :)
Bah you and your luxuries lol I nearly burnt down my spraying tent tonight lol. Yeah as long as it is Clea. Thatl do lad. Well I don't know about long term really. See how it goes.

How do you nearly burn down a spraying tent... did you not see the highly flammable bit on the can :p or was you being a teenager with a lighter held in front of it?
Luxuries... gazebo.. argos.. £18 with £9 tarpaulin for walls ;) that's how I roll. Cheapest garage ever :D

That's why soldering>crimps
Crimps are the bane of my life...

Yeah, but those are very poor quality crimps no doubt crimped on with a nasty £3.99 crimp tool.

There's a clear difference between those and using proper components with proper crimp tools.

We don't mess about at Rolls-Royce, it's all proper stuff. To be fair it is on a vibro-polish machine which does see more than the average amount of vibration, but it goes to ahow they're not infallable. NEVER had a soldered joint go here, is always crimps.

lol it was a cheap gazebo... an ember from the fire caught it lol. na burning waste...mannsssss. well we is bosses son

So maybe the spraying went worse than I thought .. Although this is a very cool happy accident. Haha. I was not wearing my glasses so I didn't spot the mistake straight away. The paint was not thin enough so it ended up being rather speckly.. Well the whole panel is like sanding paper in battleship grey :D haha actually love it .

...maybe you've found a new calling...spray tans are still the "in" thing right? :p

Seriously though, great job Chris ;)
Maybe I have lol... Well after today's miss hap maybe its not a good idea lol.

Thank you my lover, she's getting there slowly.. Very slowly. I think I may run out of paint though :( oh well I will do the bumpers last just in case. I have a few ideas which may require a different colour so they will be done last :)

How's your painting ? Done it all yet?

I used to do my ex's spray tan! Saved loads of money!! :D
P. S, sand it back and do it again!!
I am actually debating leaving it, in my head i can imagine the rear panel looking quite good with it. So I will finish the rest of the car and see how it looks.

I finished my bumper,....that's it though...I haven't done any other panels...again, yet ^_^

but now it's been a few weeks I've spotted an odd run, down by my mock diffuser...
it is all flat and smooth/shiny but somehow discoloured...sort of pinkish tinge to it <_<
luckily you can't really see it, until it's pointed out to you...according to my dad LOL
of course...it's my baby so I spot all the tiny flaws...
it would also seem that I could have done with rubbing down the side I had previously painted, as it is still slightly raised
...but at least this time it's all the same colour :D
...bloody good for halford rattle cans, me thinks :p
so, basically, my rear bumper is all one kind of white...the rest is still a bit....blah,

... I think I may run out of paint though :(

I thought you got enough of that paint for a Land rover/Jeep/military vehicle, as that is what it's for? o_O
...didn't the advert say 10 square metres coverage per litre or something?

Maybe I have lol... Well after today's miss hap maybe its not a good idea lol.
BTW your paint may have speckled, not because it's too thick but, because the air was too warm and it had started to dry before hitting the panel :(
...I had that problem with my bonnet (when I had a go with the paint last year)
...although it's always good to have an extra skill set to fall back on, practice makes perfect ;)
as Noddie said, rub it down and see how it looks/do another coat :)

General rust is down to luck mostly. However.....5 doors drain the roof out through the rear wheel arch as standard. The rear doors meant that the drains couldn't be stuffed into the rear sills like the 3 door models and Nissan wouldn't have had the forethought to design the cars that long. Anyone who's done the rear sills on a 3 door will have undoubtedly noticed the cause and routed them out the same way to avoid the issue.......hopefully.
