Porks bike carbs and boost project

No unfortunately I haven't got round to doing a blog. If I'm honest it was a bit of a chore, Frank explained how he did his somewhere. The car still isn't on the road, and I'm not sure whether they're going to hold up. And in the end I welded the ball joints in and seam welded the whole wishbone. I'll get a picture tomoz

Finished all coilover work today

So..... From start to finish

This is my way, copy this at your own risk people!

Rears, cut down bush to correct width of k10 mount, that is all that's needed

Fronts,

Drill new holes to match mounting holes

Weld on something to strengthen it up

Drill this to 14mm

Stick this on a lathe a trim down so it fits into plastic bearing

Job done

It's a couple hours work max from start to finish

The silver top cup bit on the suspension?

It doesn't fit the k10 top mount bearing
So needs to be cut on lathe to make it fit

Umm haha. I made a mash of it with a grinder. But I'd say best thing would be to drill a pilot hole through the bottom and then use a hole cutter that's the right size!

If you've a big enough press :)
To get them out you may aswel cut across it. And push the bottom bit down... if that makes sense

I got to take one out using two pieces of bar, one which had a hole and went on oneside of the wishbone , then bet it out with the other piece of bar and a hammer , worked well no damage done

I usually do things the hard way first time and then realise after haha. Like my d/s engine mount is completely different too everyone else :/
What the coilovers off of pork?

Today's problems

Hubs n shafts

I bought some k11 hubs ages ago, put them on and the k10 shaft splines are to small!

Is there a certain model of the k11 I need the hubs from?

Mine were off a pre facelift 98 SR. And they fitted with no problems!
Are your hubs off a 98 onwards? Cos they have different gearboxes and maybe shafts?

Have no idea....but they probably are the later ones!!
Dam

Oh well, il have to get new ones :(

Also, is there any difference between 1.0 and. 1.3 brake calipers/discs

Thinking if I can jus go scrappy and take whole hub/brakes assembly

Brakes are all the same up until the 1.4 facelift going vented i think mate :)

As far as I'm aware the part numbers for the 1.0l and 1.3l pads are the same. Therefore same ones. And I doubt the hubs are any different. Last lot of pads and discs I got were £24 for all of it :p

In regards to the hubs im going to use my 1l coilpack hubs i test fitted on the k10 shafts and fitted well, thats if your still using the k10 box :)

Fitted k11 brakes today

What a pain in the ass!

First issue, my k10 shafts are to small on the hub side (k10 are green, not that you can see size difference on pic)

So here's everything I needed for k11 brakes

K11 wishbones
K11 calipers
K11 hubs
K11 track rod ends
K11 drive shafts
K11 discs

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1374258995.741204.jpg

And voila, k11 brake setup

Only got one side done as the other shafts thread needs cutting as I dropped it and messed it up :(

See how these work, if no good, I can now upgrade to gtir ;)
