Right here goes, I've been officially micra less since mid 2012. And I couldn't stand it any more.

The truth is, owning an evo 8 is all well and good but, try to go to a friendly meet and you're always upstaged or made to look cheap. Or worse, they organise meets at spa, Nurburgring or during a "super car cruise"

When 75% of the members have £20k+ in their evos and their daily driver is a 458 or mclaren 650s, you just can't keep up.


So


I'm keeping the evo.

But I'm now a proud micra owner again.

Frank has turned to the vauxhall diesel dark side and in turn furnished me with one of the cleanest (no rust) prefacelift shells I've ever seen.

It's in need of work, but it's a driver (drove 300miles today)

The sound is subaru ish,
The performance is good to happy trouser time.
The bodywork is..... I'll skip that bit. Lol
But it's a white, 3 door tin top pre face lift with a turbo and nistune, wide steelies, a van like interior and potential up the yang yang.

The current owner of that pops on the Nissan Micra K11 Fan Club on Facebook from time to time.

I made an attempt at drumming up interest in a track day but he never replied.
 
I need that car in my life. It stirrs my loins like only this car and the calsonic R32 Skyline ever has.
 
I've been inside Frank car 2 years ago. Never forgot that roundabout :eek: Nice to see it stays in the club, I hope Frank will do the same.
 
I'll try. May or may not be in the evo, it now needs a full respray after a "technician " from chipsaway fu... Knackered my bonnet and drivers door...

So here it is,

I've removed the egr / dump valve as it wasn't sealing properly and was causing a boost leak.

No leaks now lol.

Also began to replace the go-kart fuel lines for silicone vacuum boost lines.

My £15 intercooler ain't gonna fit. So that's a bugger. But it's all experimental.

Here's some pics after I've tidied Er up a bit and of some of the areas that need attention.

Oh and here's a to do list.

Move battery to boot
Fit an intercooler
Fit boost controller
Change all the boost pipes for 2.5" stainless steel/ally
Remove any excessive cabling and replace with a bespoke loom (my speciality)
Clean and tidy up the engine bay
Fix the rust bonnet
Replace the gear linkage springs
Replace both drive shafts
Replace side exit pipe for a decent straight through custom jobbie in 2.5"
Find some superS bumpers
Respray the car in an as yet undecided way....Lol
Fit mx5 5 spoke enkeis
Source the full nismo cup kit
Remove the tow bar wiring kit and fake exhaust
Refit the drivers headlight
Tighten and check the rear suspension isn't falling off.


And I think that'll do for now. Lol.

Intake Temps of 56deg after a short blast.
Needs an intercooler badly.
Should be nearer 40deg


I'll fit a remote intercooler and a temp controlled fan.
 
if you hav,nt lagged the pipe thats probably heatsoak from the engine bay ant ^ put the probe anywhere in the engine bay and it,ll read 56
 
That's why you raise bonnets and cut holes everywhere. :D place two massive fans in there... Bosh. Ant. Bring that temp gauge with you sat. I wanna try my engine bay temps pretty please.
 
Intercooler being a git.


Got 99% plumbed in (propper ghetto style) But I've rub out of silicone couplers the correct size...
I need 1. Mother funner...... Grr...

nah, i woke up puking yesterday chris, and still a little bit groggy :( the mapper guy could,nt get the ecu to hook up properly via obd, so need to remove it (nearside wing off job) so have had to resort to a tuning box for now
got it to the stage where it,ll spank GA16 micra,s now so was looking forward to today :(
