RaptorRVL said:Well, that's the whole thing isn't it. Nobody is going to have a look at it until something happens. And I guess once the insurance finds out there is something not totally legal with the car they ain't paying. Although that can get quite complicated in some cases.

kristian said:true.. But isn't that any car that has had some minor welding or some bodywork blending..95% of Bodykits arn't E-approved yet many companies advertise themselves as suppliers and fitters.. Halfords???
Insurence companies even specialise in modified cars..
I understand the what you are trying to get across.. We dont want illegal cars on the roads...
Yet if sombody crashed into me with a gorgious kitted up car, bad boy bonnet, vents, smooth boot etc..... Hardly E-approved I wouldn't blame hes blatantly illigal car for the crash....
The point im trying to make is where the 'grey' areas are with respect to 'roadworthyness' and insurence are.... this is surely where most modified cars lie.. no matter how subtly/drasticly or poorly/professionally they are modified..
Hmm, I don't really see anything in this topic that people try to dazzle others on purpose.Asside from all the legal-dodging-discussions going on here..it sounds like you don't care if you dazzle other road-users..?

No need to start banning people right away I'd say
sonic said:how many times have you been dazzled in you rear view by a so called prestige car with HID
antony_aiken said:that statement is unfair and untrue... all halfords fitters and ripspeed employees are fully IMI certified in Vehicle electronics and in some cases (like mine) have C and G level 3 motorvehicle qualifications.
please dont make sweeping slanderous staments like this..
