you drilled out the top sring seat to adequate the bearing ?
nice job, only height adjust we got is having difrent size spacers
what numbers on the side of your spring?

I've just figured out lucifers way of doing things

If you use ALL corsa b topmount it's a straight bolt on

I believe the holes in the suspension tunnel need milling out 1 mm and then it fits

I haven't done this but I believe from memory noddie has

I have also spent hours on google searching

"Micra coilovers " " Micra tuning companies"
"specialise in Micra tuning" etc etc to no avail

How much do you charge lucifer if you don't mind me asking

Thanks

Similar but not exactly, also i'm not sure if i read it right but are people using corsa b top mounts? we are still using just the original nissan ones all be it brand new to make it all new. (another bit of information extracted from me lol) :glare:

does,nt look like he used corsa mounts to me martin fwn

I used the corsa top mounts and slotted the holes in the strut tower (should really weld on washers in the right position but I haven't yet). Seemed to work fine for me.

Hi Martin,
we dont use the Corsa topmounts so no need to drill out strut towers, the coilovers we use work with the micra topmount with the centre hole enlarged to fit corsa strut, these are also compatible with the much sturdier steel top bearing that come with the strut. no spacers or anything else used, the rears however are a bit more tricky to get right. hope this helps. cheers.

wouldnt be that dificult to get the rear ball type spring in with the aliminium height adjust fitted , right frank :grinning:
bish bosh and some welding

Z I was just gonna cut here so the large part of the spring sits firmly in the cup

So this is all you would see

Covering over the top coils to show you what would be left

I'll try it when I have time

Providing the adjustable cup

sits in the Micra bottom cup holder without moving it should be ok??

thats a lot, its why its temptin :grinning: and the springs looking better/softer than the stock chop job
variation of wheel tyre choice you'd have would determine highest point to set things up before the job ???????

Hi all
Rear springs cut like that will bind on the top mount/cup for sure, they will locate to a fashion but will make a bit of noise where they are rubbing if not at first when they settle, you are very close to getting this right but you really need a more positive location at the top and to get rid of the cup shape of the top mount.

Right they fit but even with the adjustable cup wound to the highest point they are slack when cars jacked up

Even when it's lowered down (it's definately lower!) there is binding like you say lucifer

If I rock the car I can hear the spring moving and making funky noises

Think cut oem ftw with both top and bottom rubbers

I'll cut another coil off

But REALLY need mckenzies arch roller to give me the clearance on the arch etc

I can't see how the fark it would work personally as the coils are bigger than the cup and hit the outer edge when cars on the floor

Lucifer are your springs egg shaped?

And Frank are you serious lol

Whats that off an old citreon bx or something?

there is a set of corsa B coilovers on ebay that are true 4 wheel coilovers........ ie, they use the shock mount on the rear as a spring and shock mount...

maybe they are being used? they would certainly fit without a problem (as there loads of room under there!)

there,s very little room for a spring on the back ant (the shock nearly touches the arch at the top, even without a spring around it  )

Im using Spax coilovers and they have the shock with the spring around it (bought them from Stani), they fit nice and no need for reinforcing the strut towers...

loads of things going off since i last on, well i got my front coilies on now the work a dream, no real mods for them to fit nice :) just need the backs on now, also any one know how to fit aftermarket cental locking?

matinb, Yes ours are egg shaped rears, Not a particularly useful comment now but you cut off a bit too much really  .
Too all of you out there if you are using a full set of true coilovers you should really be reinforcing the rear shock turrets as you have now increased the loading on these massively, apart from the extra stiffness and strain on them from that, you now have all the cornering force on them. Even a welded in bar between them would be better than nothing.
