Got some photos of your car :) not great but some

I've got a couple more tbh of under the seats and dash. Quality is still lacking hence £25 on new camera and less on a phone which still takes a better photo

Engine was pissing oil out like it was going out of fashion so removed and resealed the sump hoping that's where the leak was... Will find out soon :p

Oil leak fixed! Went about replacing the wheel today with a proper suede wheel at last....Bargain at £37 :p

Naff photo but oh well...

Re-did the tracking in preperation for the upcoming track day on the 9th of April as well....Been a busy day :)

Also refreshed some old stickers with nice new ones and started removing the door bump strips so I can fit new 'number' squares more centrally.

Progress was hampered by needing to go and buy a new toffee wheel and then ran out of light :(

Final got around to having my fire extinguishers serviced :) cost me a massive £12!

Then ordered new rear shock Bush things as one was squealing like a pig... Didn't want to spend £10 on a original Nissan one so I went pot luck on some Land Rover bushes for £3 and hey presto they fit!

Finally got around to finishing removing bump strips etc and getting a photo with its new unmarked stickers :)

Lil cars all loaded up for the trackday tomorrow at Blyton Park, 4 tyres, Jack, two tool boxes and many many things squeezed in around the roll cage. Impressed.
Meeting @pollyp and @h701micra down there, be the first legal high speed testing of the new engine: fingers crossed

Track day at Blyton Park went well, 1400 engine running brilliantly :)

Tomorrow is the first competitive event of the year, a sprint at Blyton Park with the MDMA. Can see what my improvement on times where over last year, see how big an improvement the engine has had

Keep me posted :)

Well!

Brilliant day! Previous personal best time was 186 seconds
New best is 164 seconds!

That's faster than one kit car, mini rally cross cars and a second behind a mk1 escort running 200 whp.

Delighted as also managed to sort the handling out, had one incident which I'll upload in a bit

Not bad Alex :)
I was going to say keep fettling the damping until you reach your happy medium but never got round to sending that text

Just a quick, unedited video of the last run of the day. Massive oversteer on first corner (circa 10sec), then lose the rear under high speed braking (1:50)....Sloppy driving and a crap setup :p Put it back to previous setup now. Excuse the cameras exposure level.

More track days out for some note making before fettling a base set up it would seem
The F15/R20 seems to be the favourite base line generally

I was on 15 front 25 rear when the tail happiness was occurring.... Brilliant fun, and very quick but the slightest lift or trail brake would have massive consequences haha.

Never had so much fun in that car before

Amazing the difference a basic baseline setup and a few extra hp can make :)
Can only get better

Had a sprint at Blyton Park again last weekend... Big dissapointment, throttle body has started dieing, massive brake imbalance and clutch release bearing is knackered.

On the other hand, repainted @h701micra old steel wheels I bought yearsssss ago. Lookin fresh again

I have another TB you're welcome to try :)

At least you see why I left the opportunity of a bias valve dude, glad I did now. Makes a huge difference :)

I was hoping for better news with the upgrades but at least you've found kinks that are easily ironed out

I meant the left to right bias, think one calliper is seizing. Sticking it on a roller Tuesday to find out as well as running diagnostic, if you're still good for Thursday I'll nab the TB then :)

Rather faults now than at the rally eh

Exactly that :)
At least the engine didn't fall out or the brake lines failed :p
Speaking of which.. I need to attack your lines with 1 or 2 p-clips. Its probably ott but better safe than sorry

Took the car to the garage a few days ago, no throttle body issues when I ran diagnostic which is odd. Fault seems to have cleared up anyhow....Adjusted clutch cable, hopefully the bearing will shut up now.
Brake imbalance (Left to right) is just down to only having one person in a vehicle, so one side of the car has more grip and thus brakes harder. Two up, on a rally, it's fine.

Popped up to see Andy as well today, got the car raised up 25mm (1") for the Wolds rally which is quite rough, and also lowered the spring pre-load down to 5mm. Gave the coilies a good clean as well, stop any rust or seizing in the future.
Mucked around with the exhuast as well, kind of wanted to make it obnoxiously loud, but in the end I poofed out and just messed the exhaust I have and think I've finally managed to stop it knocking.
Andy also got carried away and made me a strut brace out of the kindness of his heart :p Looks cool, no idea what gains (stiffness) it will give.

Will get some pictures up tomorrow :)

Recently competed in the Phoenix Jane Cowling Memorial Rally and came 3rd in class, and 34th overall out of 64 entries! Not bad for a standard 1.4 :D

Had a few issues with brakes, engine and the horn not working but apart from that we were good!

Lots to fix before the Vale of York stages in a months time :)

Been having fuelling issues with the car, when running low fuel levels to make the car light the car stutters and dies out of corners (See video).
I've got a new fuel pump and some fuel tank foam to go in.

Been reading back over my first few posts, God I was mechanically retarded back then :p Both me and the car have come a long way

Got some new vinyl pieces being printed for the car, should have them on soon.

Just jotting down on here a quick spec list:

CGA3DE Engine with 1.0 G/box
GA16 Air Intake
Pre-Facelift manifold and cat (Less Restrictive)
PowerFlow Custom Exhuast system
BC Coilivers
Uprated Fuel Pump
Internal Fuel and Brake lines
Mintex Pads / Bremo discs

just remembered I should jot down a spec list for mine at the show too, how longs a piece of string :p

I've got more bits done just can't remember!

You definitely need a spec list written up! Your car get so much attention :) you going to Japshow Finale?

I'm gonna need a 3hr powerpoint presentation lol

na I think JAE is all for now till I can get some sorta job

And the rest haha!!

Ahh fair enough, sensible head on :p I'll be taking a break from racing after Christmas I think, I can't afford the cost of it anymore.

Got some new vinyls onto the vehicle for my sponsors RN Motors, if you're in Peterborough and your cars "gone to ****" please give them a bell. The amount they've helped me with over the years is unbelievable considering how little I benefit there company... They've given me everything from free windscreen replacements to allowing me entire days in their garage using their tools and asking silly questions to their mechanics to get my car sorted. Brilliant people, and to top it all off they let me drive their Ferrari kit car, sweeetttt

Had a brilliant time at the Vale of York Stages 2015 with a 2nd in class and 18th overall of 40 odd entries :D
Was the roughest event the cars ever done, but we got through it with very little problems like usual! Had a new navvy for this event, Adam Charlesworth.

Slight mistake from navvy sent me flying into a tight, 1st gear chicane, flat out in 3rd but some handbrake and panic braking meant we just ended up stuck on top of some tyres. Navvy jumped out and bounced on the bonnet and managed to push the car free.... Lost a lot of time!

Rally then went smoothly, without only a few but clenching moments on the long high speed corners were I backed off and nearly slid sideways into a field at 90mph odd, but somehow held it much to Adams relief!

Car started to have the engine issues again, even with a full tank, and it's definitely heat related. One stage, with a long service period, and I'll have no issues.
If I do two stages with no break in between the engine will lose all power throughout the Rev range... It acts like a 1.0. I'm thinking it might have a tiny crack somewhere in the block, and as it gets hot this crack expands meaning I lose compression?

I'll do a compression test soon and figure it out.

Picture shows the slight damage to the front bumper.

Do you a distributor mate?

I've had 3 coils fail when hot with the symptoms you have described as above. That & check the little vacuum take off from the unlet mani that goes to the factory fuel reg.

Its prone to cracking and causes a tiny vacc leak thats bothered me a few times now as well

Try opening the fuel filer cap (after the issues have arisen) and if you hear air rushing in, then the tank vent is blocked. Had this before....
