what did you do to your micra today ?

What did you tell me that for, don't know whether to buy it or not now !!!!! you sod !!!! What does the K&N filter do ??? and the powerflow back box ????? What horsepower does the SR push out ???? more than my 1.4 at 86 hp ???? are they the same size engine ???? Questions, questions and decisions. Come on people you know the answers - please.

Is it the one in Cornwall...by any chance? rather tempted myself...pretty much the K11 I'd have if I got one again :p

the SR is usually a 1.3 (1275)
with a couple of mods listed it may have ever so slightly more HP but it's still likely to be less than your 86 ...I think 75hp as standard?...

I was replying to joek11 bout comparing the handbrake effectiveness, not your post.
both drum and disc type of rear brakes work fine as long as they're serviced regularly.

ultimately up to you to research, assess the listing with common sense, prepare & fully inspect any used vehicle for any issues before deciding on the purchase.
I wrote a check list

K&N filter is a reusable oiled-fabric type performance air filter

SR is a 1.3L rated 75bhp

Went to a scrapyard to find a new speedo, they wouldn't let me anywhere near the cars on my own so instead of getting ripped off like before I made up some excuse I needed parcel shelf speakers, walked away with an OEM parcel shelf speaker for a tenner. Huge difference to the car, can barely hear the bad boy exhaust now.

WDID? Took another photo :L

Yes Jen, that's the one. Doesn't matter now, its sold. Ran into an AA man today and had a chat about my airbag light, some progress perhaps, gave me the number of a leccy who can bypass this bloody light, gonna give him a ring tomorrow.
To late now for my retest, have to pay full wack again - sod it.

WDIDT Took off a spoiler I fitted about a month ago - the small one. Fitted it using a glue called Stix-all, best glue I have ever used, had to take it off with a hacksaw and cold chisel. Got the bugger off though, but not all the glue, no matter, I'll stick the new larger one on over it. There are a couple of bolts on it but won't drill the boot as to near the wires, the glue will hold anything - even sticks superb to glass and comes in several colours. You can buy it in your local plastic company. Drains downpipes that sort of company - you know. Hope to fit my new one tomorrow, and then the tints.
When my family get back from the USA I'll get my daughter to put on some piccies.

Nothing.

and the powerflow back box ?????
Very little, mostly noise.

What horsepower does the SR push out ????
75 from factory

more than my 1.4 at 86 hp ????
My math skills say no.

are they the same size engine ????
1275cc vs 1348cc

Drove the rally car to work (see yesterdays WDIDT to see why), had great fun :) Had forgotten how fast she goes now, having only done lower speed events recently.

Can't wait for the new engine and even more POWER!

One thing though, there is a slight mis-fire at random times, has always done this, feels like an electrical fault, i think it may be the dizzy, perhaps the coil getting hot ? or the rev counter is only working intermittently does the rev counter feed link to the ECU ? Could this be the cause ?

New plugs and ht leads, and a bit of wd40 on the insideof the dizzy cap to remove any moisture should see you right.

Its had that, and does it with all new ht electrics.

Just remembered that i had done the dizzy rev limiter mod, bit of tape over the hole, could it be this confusing the ecu ?

Wdid? Enjoyed the extra power of the cg13 ;) Hope the novelty wears off soon before I get points/ban :O
On a private road near me a modded focus bottled it at 105, I watched it fade to a dot in my rear view mirror :D

Stop teasing me with all this talk of how great the cg10-cg13 swap is :p

I need to do it soon :D

Used to have the same problem with hesitation & stuttering, exactly as you say once hot it was a fault with the Dizzy ,went away when started from cold.

Id stick a scrap dizzy in to try before spending anything :)

Its exactly like that Skinner, guess its new/scrappy dizzy time.

Anyone know a scrap yard near Aylesbury or Uxbridge where they actually let you go take stuff off the car? Ones i have found are where they remove the stuff and don't let you near the cars.... :(

I want one!!

You coming sunday lover?

Well good luck, it's tricky stuff to machine but I never bent any, be interested to see the results :)
Jet engine would have been cooler. Make one with an old turbo!

cheers andy :) here,s the droop with the stock a/r/b (3 3/4") and disconnected (a tad over 5") i should be able to match the whiteline for stiffness (@ half the weight)
the offside rear wheel is up inside the arch

If you want a measure of the whiteline droop Frank just shout :)

Well the Youngs Modulus of Titanium is around 110GPa, and it's 210GPa ish for mild steel and for Aluminium it's about 80GPa... should bend OK I recon. Youngs modulus is in some way related to density I recall (with a few exceptions).

nah, i,ve just tested it in my bending machine :D and its a good 2 x stiffer than the stock spring steel one
