Yeah I had my mad moments yesterday. Done nowHonestly i drove 1/4 throttle the whole time, its so much better once mapped trust me! Play safe then play hard
possible i guess chris, you must have been raggin it to get 6psi with the W/G open !Frank you reckon I could have caused det knocking with that much boost at 10btdc?

no my pcv is connected as usual, it will draw some crankcase fumes @ idle, but mine still sprayed bad, i had to nurse the car home 10 miles at 1500rpm and half emptied the sumpPcv takes out if connected up though?

Wouldn't have thought 5W-50 would make it lumpy.Okay well why was she lumpy this morning.... 5w-50 oil... It was very cold this morning.

have you checked your tubby oilflow yet chris ? here,s mine flowing 1 litre/12 minutes @ idle
i have been running the banjo bolt with the big hole till now (on the right) which flowed 1 litre/2.5 minutes.
the one on the left is the 12 minute one, and with some trial and error (using self tappers with a flat ground onto one side) settled for a 5 minute/L flowrate

Forgot to explain this.
Ok, so the first load of results are to calculate the flow rate of oil out of the turbo return feed over the whole rev range. We calculated the time to collect 0.25ml of oil and then calculated flow rate from that. The first set of results were for a 1mm restrictor. We found that the oil pressure is as Noddy said not linear, however I'm guessing there is an oil relief valve near the pump to prevent hydrolocking that might explain that...
Anyway, a 1mm restrictor gave roughly 0.625l/m at 6k rpm, about half what we wanted. I didn't want to go higher though, as there was evidence of cavitation at those revs, possibly because the oil was in the top of the engine/in our collector and not at the oil pickup?
We decided to open the oil restricter up to 1.5mm, measured again at 6k rpm only this time, as 1.5mm has roughly double the cross sectional area as 1mm. We got a calculated flow rate of 0.83l/m this time. Hmm...
Tried once more with a 2mm restrictor at 6k rpm, calculated bang on 1.0l/m flow rate, and cavitation seemed less, so we think air was mixing with the oil as it sloshed down the oil return pipe... case for a swirl pot?
We were happy with 1l/m, as there was no smoke out of the exhaust and it seemed close enough, openening up the restrictor seemed to be giving diminishing returns... and would have just been one step closer to turbo flooding again.
@pollyp this photo was for you actually it was in relation to when you posted your visit ages ago I should have taken the picture further down the road and closer to the rails.

Dyno is tomorrow. I have been getting the maf and injectors in.This thread is useless without dyno printout
Booked tomorrow afternoon off, when will you be back from blowing up on the dyno?
