MSN style chats are good for msn/aim/icq/yahoo thingys...
It's not like there are not enough programs who can do all of that stuff, even programs with which you can use all the protocols at once.
Why do we need a chat here on the website?

I mean, I agree, it would be fun to have an IRC channel or something with a webinterface here on the website. But I dont think too many people will be using it imho.

Well if any1 duznt hav msn, get it and put ur e-mail on ur profile, dat way if any1 ever needs to talk u just add each other. If any1 who has msn hasnt put their msn addy on their profile, do dat now!
