you would not believe the hardship in trying to find a k10 in the scrappys in ireland,
but after a few weeks i finally have a full exhaust from back to front and all the other parts i need travelling on their way to me,
bout time! ill be looking forward to getting that rigged up!

So today went to do my very first timing belt very simple on k10
Getting a torque wrench tommorrow and finish the job off , also me thinks its time for some MSC stickers

got a nice bit done today , needed a pit but ours was blocked by machinery, so our hill came in handy

made my own pit

then found out what my idiling issue was, (thanks frank) the PCV valve had so much blow-by it blew the back outa the valve

then fixed it

what was your idling problem?

ever heard of a pcv valve? its on the intake manifold where the emissions hose from the top of the rocker cover goes, the valve was contant open, so i had no idle
having an issue with yours?

I have idle it just the revs change go high then drop to normal again

Im not an expert so dont take my word but to me that sounds like the choke on the carb is engaging, i could be wrong , only other thing i can think of that may effect idiling is that little box under passenger seat , thats some some sort of a throttle idler so maybe that can effect the idiling

Ill unplug the box and see if it makes a difference

Tbh i dont know too much , its only thanks to these guys here i get things done ! I doubt that will make a difference but try it , has the car been sitting up ? Because if so its possible its just the choke on the carb

Is it reving up by much ? Lets say choke should roughly give it 200rpm more is it that small or reving higher ? First thing id try is start the engine and if if fails to go back down to idiling speed then stick your hand in to the back of the carb and and where the throttle body is try bring it down to idiling speed , if you catch me ?

Then its most likely choke , my used to stay engaged but after running it worked properly again , after that im not sure what id do with it except clean the carb ,

so had a really rough patch on my roof , so i said id have a go using match up paint, and saidid give a shot at spraying half the rough, it was mental but it worked, and when i buff it will hopefully be fully unnoticable

Thanks , you as an 18 year old too will understand how much harder it is to be in this business ! They were a bargain why nice tyres hence why i got them , i was mad for some dish , but id have to pay twice as much to get some dished ones, it badly needs coilovers instead of those 35mm springs , wish i hadd bought coilovers instead, i gotta wait now till i make some money instead ,

P.s i think its best i just get it out there that i am extremly jelous that you at 18 have your hands on a march superturrbo maybe oneday i will have the honour lol

haha cheers man, but its not a super unfortunately, just a turbo and with a turbo comes a lot of hassle, which equals more dollaaa
I know what you mean about the money side of things, just gotta be patient and things pop up. managed to scoop my superlites for £207 which I thought was a bargain...just stalk ebay on a daily basis

oh and have you considered an electronic boost control? GFB have a good one available, probably best money too, its easy way of building up boost safely as far as i know saying that i dont know much lol

cheers man nah not really, might at some point, but it'll still set me back at least 100quid..and that money could be used elsewhere.
yeah thats fair, although i spotted a nice set of chrome superlites i was gunna grab on gumtree..but they turned out to be in dublin

i have to be honnest there i never head to gumtree! i must consider it more, but buying an SU carburator and intake mani at the moment so my funds will be tight for some time i hope its worth it should be !

Lads need help , iv got exams next month so a friend of mine has offered to bring my k10 to his garage and finish it and get it tested while iv got exams so i can have it for this summer , but iv got a problem iv broken the light switch stalk and now am badly stuck for one before this friday when i send k10 away, would anyone have one that they could post tomorrow to ireland ? In the hope itll arrive before friday ?

I huge dose of stupidity , basically i was trying somethin "new" with the wiring , lights were constantly on, i tried turn them off even though the switch was off and bam the switch now just twists around 360 degrees all day long :/ a moment of retardation to be honnest !
