polishing rocker and heat sheild..

basiclly i want to bring the heat sheild up like its new, & polish the rocker cover up...

is it possiable with elbow grease? i know you can buy polishing kits of ebay, but i will be honest and say i dont have a clue what iam actually looking at lol.

Nooooooooo. You could do a reasonable job with some very fine grade wet and dry paper, and then polish with Autosol or similar, it would look reasonable but you'll never get a mirror shine.

I think skotch (spelling) do some abrasive pads that also work well on alloy

u'll neva get a "ting" effect but it will be shiney dont get me wrong!
mabey you could buff it up then laqure it mabey???

go all out and get it chromed or get a new shield made up in chrome steel

If you wire brush it, it will be very difficult to then remove the scratches said brush will have created.

use a chrome plate spray paint, the heat from the exhaust will actualy help make it look more chrome...

thats what i use.

i think i will just slap on some high temp chrome or allminuium spary. used it before and came up like new.

i'am just thinking of other things i can clean up in the engine bay...might get a spare battery try and de-rust it i know they tend to get light rust on them, i know its not noticeable because of the battery but i know its there lol.
