i think that after they quoted the price, they have to do it for that price. you wouldn't take your car in for some work and they say it will cost £40, so you take it in and they simply change the amount. that is the danger of working in the car industry, you might get stuck for hours on a rusty bolt, or just simply not have the right part and have to order it in, but still you quote for it it.

you should say that because they quoted that, then they should get it done. if that garage can't do it for that price then they should find another, its not your problem.

You've gotten further than the lad i know, been over a year now since that accident and hes now waiting on the ombudsman to make a decision.

I think most either dont have a clue or just make stuff up on the spot.
