Thought id share my progress with my march as im in the process of a colour change!! Here it is as i bought it!!

And this is how it is at the minute while its being done, got my paint saturday, started wet sanding today.... im doing it as the 1 was done in aussie the old rustoleum way!! Nothing to lose so i said id try it!!!

Its going to be all black interior and like an st orange exterior!! today i got a splitter from a transit connect believe it or not!! and some wind deflectors! Next is lowered and some wheels then well see what happens!! Will post pics up of progress, also id like to know what you all think, splitter: leave it as is, gloss black, or colour code?

Not got much done lately... nowhere to put it now, my granda kicked me out of his garage lol, will get some pics up soon!!! As always any advice?!

i would have removed the nipples, wiper and rear nissan badge before painting the boot. then fit them after

First of all it looked better white! and what was wrong with paying a bodyshop to do it? money i know, save?

Cheers for the comments, it has been rolled! Geting there, im going to take the nipples and badge off the next coat, and im thinking of doing the handles black?! So black handles, badges, wipers and nipples?! What you think? yes didnt have the money, was for sale but no1 likes micras here lol, so i decided i had nothing to lose! Saw it on micra.com.au said id give it a go... the paintwork was terrible when it was white so i said why not!!!! Anything else anyone think i should do?! Its all a great help! Cheers!!!

Oh and its rustoleum paint by the way!! Done with a high density foam roller!

Hmmmm havent done anything to the grill yet?!?! maybe, also black splitters front and rear?!? And eventually black wheels!! Cheers squarepants, still have your exhaust as i sold the super s and took it off, might use it as a backbox?!?! Did you have it as a backbox at some stage?!

yes mate. it used to be part of a cat back stianless system for the micra. but the centre section got sold. and i only managed to buy the back box. it was a crap fit so took it off sold it. then was made into a side exit. then brought it back. then sold it agian. then got it back....and then sold it to you lol .

so its been around but has only ever been fitted to yours and mine.

No way lol.... has been about alright!!! Yeah was thinking of cutting it back into a backbox as theres not many micras round here so no1 to sell it to lol! Would high temp paint be ok on an exhaust?!

yearh high temp its fine i used it. but it does tend to burn off after a week lol. it would be a shame to turn a one off front side exit into a back box though

It hasnt been done yet!!!! Id like to keep it as a side exit as i love the noise!!! Just need power to match!!!lol Nearly had a crashed gt primera the other day, red top but someone beat me to it!!! grrrrrrrrrrrr

I like orange cars.Your car would look cool lowered loads & some fatter tyres on your steel rims & a few subtle black touches...
You can get a good finish with brush/roller by flatting with 1500 paper wet & soapy & then polish with a mechanical polisher.
Did a Starsky & Hutch style MK1 Escort years ago...

wow mate it's so unusual.. the colour seen byiteslf on the catalogue is horrifying, but the micra took it quite well! cheers at that mate!

is it complete now? didn't you remove the parts such as mudguard etc. to paint them ?

I would love to see the finished outcome..? I've ever been thinking of re-paintining mine.. It's white too, but the colour is still ok ..but the car has lots of minor dents not easily seen but I hate to have them.. also I have v.little rust on the roof where the carrier fits in..the rust is touching the windshield's rubber...I've been concerned abt that and haven't done anything at all yet...as whenever I tell anyone on repainting using roller...they just yell off! is it only the professionals that can get quality outcome even by rollers?

how much do you estimate the whole re-painting cost you? is it super imposs without a garage?

cheers mate! I love the look, I'd change the wheels as if I'm not mistaken you're still running on stocks are you? I'm smotthing the stock bumpy and customizing it to an open mouth one whilst meshing it and printing on the mesh... I have really long plans on mine..currently still am on going on the grille..the mesh part particualrly.

Funky mate, yeah i took everything off at first, bumpers and all to paint the cross member and that to keep it rust free, need new wheels, lowered and a bit more, i now have black mudgaurds, wipers, handles,nipples, and wind deflectors, need to do the splitters, no garage needed, i started off in a garage, but got kicked out lol.... i done it outside my house as you can see in the pics, dont mind the dust as you sand between layers, then sand with a very fine paper on the last coat and buff!!! Hope that helps!!!
