1.3 engine tuning

Nice effort with all the next to useless responses so far...
 
aside from the usual cams, exhaust, manifold and intake upgrades you could try stripping the interior out to lighten it, that makes a big difference I believe.
 
A good start is removing the very restrictive exhaust system. A nice 4-2-1 Manifold is a good place to start, with a decent cat back system and de-cat.

A set of piper cams will add a nice boost as well. You can go for bigger throttle bodies and injectors (GA16 Almera/Primera) but not much point until your hitting the 130+ bhp mark.

Along with all modifications a re-map wouldn't go a miss, Ed is your man here, I believe or Naturally Aspirated engines, either an E-manage blue or a re-map on the current ECU is the way forward, but I would speak with Ed.

If you wished to go forced induction, i'm afraid the Micra scene is very much custom everything, unless you get stuff imported!

If you go for a modified power increase, I would also go for improved braking! Almera 1.6 and Almera/Sunny/Pulsar 2.0 litre discs, calipers and pads will all fit with minimal effort.

What route would you prefer? Naturally Aspirated? Turbo'd or Supercharged? Then the steps you take can be given from there!

Also 75% of the above responses are as much use as a wet suit for a fish!!! Good effort guys!
 
i know you said engine tuning but waht about stripping it completely and uprating the suspension, full whiteline set up should do it.

that way you'll find it slightly faster, be able to go round the twisties faster.

problem then is on a straight you'll feel like it slowed down...

so then the fun comes in keeping your motion/speed through the bends :)

My car is k12 sr. I have an exhaust on it lol i know abit sad. But loads of cars want to race me like m6 ttrs and stuff. But i pretend im not intrested when in reality these cars will kill me. Hoe do i modify my car for serious power. Camming up? And how much? Anyone good at doing it for me please?

Forged pistons and rods, cams, bigger valves, stronger valve springs, turbo, stand alone ecu. Prolly going to cost a few k but it will be alot quicker then.

Depends on how far you want to take it. 2-5k is easily reached.

And just camming will be cheaper. Most likely 1k or so. But also alot lower gains as its a small engine and not a big V8.
Supercharging is also not that expensive. But 2-3k is easily reached if you cant weld yourself.

Thank you very much for your advice. Can i get much power supercharging? Would the engine be reliable? Also do you know anyone who can do it for me please?
 
Supercharging has same issues as turbo. The piston rings are weak. Although a supercharger on low boost would be better for driveability and be abit saver. Id say around 130HP or so with a supercharger. I have no idea as i dont live in the UK.

Oh you only get an extra 20bhp with supercharger? Theres not much i can do to the micra 160sr in terms of power?
 
No I was talking about a 1.3. (As this topic is originally for that) A supercharger will get you somewhere near 130hp or so on a 1.3. On a 160sr I have no idea what the limit is. I’d say a 30-50hp increase should be doable. But would cost a few k like 2-5k

Itb’s would also give a few hp. I’d say 20-30hp or so. Costs around 2k as a rough estimate

Nah swap in a build and turboed k24 and trash them. Way more fun.
