whats you opinions on engines?

im looking at swapping my 1l for a 1.3l whats your opions on that? thinking of using the 1l gearbox etc etc what you guys thinkg?
 
is it easy? or hard? what about year of engins? coz i dont have power steering and the engine im looking at has a power steering pump on it...
 
Basically you want a cg13, strip it to the bare block/head/sump etc then once youve got your engine out you swap all ancilliries over and it will work ;)

Never done but if you're after simplicity I reckon you need to match the 1.3 as closely as possible to your 1.0 ie year? coilpack or dizzy? A/C or not A/C? P/S or not P/S?
 
if you have never done this before i suggest you simply swap the whole engine (not forgetting the ECU pre nats)
 
ive never swaapped an engine but ive taken an engine out of my classic mini, ive droped gear box off the micra ana, cant be much differant/harder? and also i dont have power steering (i dont like powersteering :/)but engine im looking at has power steering pump on it, surly i can just take it off? :)cheers
 
i also jusr noticed its a cg13 cvt engine :/ im planning on swapping my flywheel and clutch asemble over so i can use the 1l gearbox and ecu is that possable to do on a cvt? and what are the cvt engines like? :/
 
I can write up a rough way of doing it? Do you have an engine crane? Or are you ok with juggling the engine about? To be honest i manage and im only 10st and not a muscle on me LOL but then if your not sure youll struggle with my technique (fitted the engine in place then supporting it with jacks, and lifting the gearbox up and onto the block)
 
i dont have a crane now and i zero muscal :p but i got 2nice big friends to do the heave work for me ;)haha and a write up would be awesome cheers :)and do u no if its okay to use a cvt engine on a 1l ecu and manual box?
 
no someone else has its on here for sale :p in the buy and sale part its from a 1999cvt facelift and im fitting it into a 1996pre facelift :)
 
Yeah the cg10 and cg13 Throttle bodies are the same parts as qith inlet, fuel rail, injectors etc. altenators are different though so youll need to use your altenator so your loom works out. And this broken stud is it exhaust manifold from the head? You can use mole grips to twist it out an fit another one from your cg10

Just remove the steering pump and then fit the pulley/adjuster bracket for the aux belt in its place, will do it later for ya ;)
