MicraMachinePower...
For a Nissan Micra K10 1991 998cc, whats the best:

- Sparkplugs?? From what ive read, NGK V-Power ones are the best??

- Leads?? Micrasport do some Splitfire ones for £40 but no HT lead with it. Im looking to buy the full set of five but not the standard replacement ones! Looking for an upgrade!! Any recommendations??

cheers,
sam
:grinning:

Aye NGK-v's are the best ive ever used and they last forever!

as for leads anything other than BOSCH, they fall to pieces.

Halfords own ones are pretty good TBH honest used em on most of my k10's with no problems :)

But if you can afford em nothing beats Nissan ones ;)

Cheers Speedle

So its going to be NGK V-Grooved plugs + Halfords leads.

Shouldnt be too much from halfords, especially with some good old fashioned discount:p

I must admit my halfords leads were crap. I got through several sets, so spent the extra and got Nissan ones.. Lasted a bit longer, but even they went wrong! so i've upgraded again and got Magnecor KV8.5mm ones and haven't had any problems since. Well worth the money :)

i still have the standard nissan ones, (the bougicord ones) on my k11 with no probs...

the best "standard" type spark plugs you can get are Champion Eon plugs.. i have tried all NGK plugs (including iridium) Bosch plugs (super 4 and super plus) and even some denso plugs, and the only ones that never fail to produce a nice linear torque "feel" to the car, never splutter or misfire even from cold are the champion eon plugs..

infat i still have the NGK irridium plugs and super 4's in my glove box..lol

my BOSCH super 4 plugs were OK for the first 20 seconds...now I have NGK V grooves

My BOSCH leads (pricier than halfords) seem to be lasting OK (SO FAR)...

Good call Arnold with the pukker leads.....do you have a link and / or a price for these?

Ems had bosch ones on the bullet and it ran fine. I had to use bosch ones when my nissan ones went wrong! but only until they got me home. Its strange as some people report no problems at all.

Anyway, they're Magnecor leads. I just rang up Magnecor direct, had a set made up and posted out. They cost about £55 lol.

About 5 years ago some halfords leads were fitted to my Escort, when a lead on my Micra snapped I used one of the Escort ones as a quick fix and it's still going.

It was the one between the coil and the dizzy though, lol.

the BOSCH leads have a tendancy to rot from the inside (what mine did) also they are very week and like to break when you take them off the spark plug. very disappointing considering they are German made.

i used some magnicor leads from an XR2 on my white micra they where very good looked nice too :)

Yeah my lead made a crispy type sound lol. then I moved it and it fell off, wondered why she was running a bit lumpy.

No, when I got the escort it had a service history, with all receipts etc which showed new leads had been bought.
