Found the issues! I am missing gearbox bolts. the remaining bolt striped the thread inside the engine mount! Oh dear.clutch would tend to slip in higher gears really chris, and 13+ with the lights on eh (probably higher with the lights off)

Dad tells me there's a guy locally that will come out and match your paint to what it is now instead of using the paint code and supplying paint how your car looked when it rolled of the factory line...some 7 years ago <_<
still would love to get a full re-spray but have no idea about costs, where to go, how much prep I should/must do whether it would be better/cheaper/worth doing it panel by panel instead of the whole thing?...get a mobile guy instead of taking it somewhere?...etc....
I know I definitely can't get it moped...as I'm almost certain it was done before I bought the car as the paint seems stupidly thin..I leant on my old K11 (same colour) nothing happened, I look at my K12 funny and scratches appear immediately down the the metal!! I know I'm paranoid, but it's frustrating...wish I'd just left it well alone *Facepalm* although saying that the majority looks better than it did
...no more deep gouges down to the black plastic of the bumpers (front and rear) and the bonnet is no longer plagued with over 20 noticeable (to me) stone chips (each down to the metal)...
Is it wierd that if i won the lottery i would get my car re-sprayed, not changing the colour either...instead of buying an audi R8? LOL
