i have deleted internet explorer from my pc and blocked its usage through windows deffender. all programs now use firefox as a default.
in fact my dads pc now wont work with IE unless its for a microsoft website. firefox is faster, more secure and since IE7, easier to use

Don't forget Googles chrome or chromium as a serious contender to firefox's throne. I would be using chromium but they don't have a build for linux yet

i,m using opera on this linux netbook, twice as quick as FF and the fan kicks in whenever i use FF too

tried opera many times over the years; never liked it as much as firefox. Just installed 9.63 so i'll give it a chance to prove itself against firefox 3.

Iv been using Firefox for quiet a while now, but still have Ie on my machine (i no silly me!) How did you get windows defender to use ff as a default Anthony?
I also looked into that Google Chrome, is anyone here using it? or anyone have any experience with it?

I use IE7, I don't go on anything dodgy or unsecure so don't see a problem with it. Never really got on with Firefox.

you dont even need to be on a browser. simply being connected to the internet is enough to get viruses. especialy if you running without protection.
