tacho and shift light

I have an Si with rev counter but i have an tacho and shift light lying around at home, was wondering whether if its possible to connect the green (dizzy) wire from new tacho to the original tacho wiring insted of feeding the wire through the firewall etc ??

Yes it is. Connect it to the wire that triggers the internal RPM meter.

i tryed doint this on my supers s and ther was no play with the needle, and i then also tryed all of the outher wires and stil no play with the needle??

have not yet fitted cus of me car being borke into! wil do iit if i get time this weekend though, did u get power to you tahco?? did the lights on it work? could be that it wasnt powered
