some exhaust enquiries for my sr :p

hi guys, I'm wanting to do a bit of work on my sr to give it a bit more power from a stand still and also mid to high acceleration as well if I can. I'm looking at eventually going for a janspeed manifold and possibly janspeed exhaust sys or sportex back box. I'm not wanting anything noisey to be honest, in fact the less noise the better although I know this is hard to do when talking exhausts, I prefer understatement

I have a few q's really, I'm on a bit of a shoe string at the moment, being in my third year at uni and all, so it will probably take a while to acquire what I need. how feasible are de-cats? are they legal ie. if i'm in a bump will my insurance be void etc or what? also is the janspeed de-cat legal and if so is it pretty much the same as the de-cats that kennie (japseye) is selling?

Also does the janspeed system (http://www.micrasport.com/product.a...6&CAT_ID=116&P_ID=176&btnProduct=More+Details) join straight into the manifold and connect to the back box thus not needing the 2nd cat or would it run through the 2nd cat (or de-cat pipe) and then to the back box?

ps. insurance could possibly be an issue if it bumps it up a lot however I am over 21 and have a years no claims.

If you're going for a cat back, the OMP Group N one is highly reccomended - demon tweeks stock it and you'll get 10% discount for being a MSC member - most of your questions have already been answered in a [previous thread, I will try to find the link.

Also, basically no point getting a decat if you keep the rest stock - best way to work is from front to back IMO
