New plates came today:

Got them fitted, fixed a small problem with the diaphragm on the awooogah horn, adjusted the panhard rod (again), and ruined a perfectly good set of preface rear lights (doh!).

Oh... And this happened:

Still needs a couple more coats & flatting before lacquer- but it's getting there

Lacquered the grill:

The car had been running a little rough on idle and had cut out a coupla times- so I changed the dizzy cap and rotor arm.
The old rotor arm was well and truly worn down and pitted on the contact:

And the points on the distributor cap had almost worn in half!- crumbly as hell through corrosion:

It's a miricle the car was even running at all!

Got some nearly new boot struts from an almera yesterday:

What car is that off?? You gonna use fibreglass??

The one in the first picture is a lower dash cup holder from a k12, the second picture was one from an almera

Think I'll have to use fibreglass (much as I hate the stuff!)

After a quick measure up, the k12 dash section won't fit- but the almera one is going to come in handy

Make a mdf frame and stretch fleece or tights. Gives great curves

Pic heavy update....

Been quite busy stripping a car I bought for parts, so I've not really done too much on Charlie- but thought it was about time I did an update:

Changed the induction kit, to run a slimmer, single cone filter and a 10mm smaller pipe- much less drone (albeit at the sacrifice of some growl):

Got my hands on a pre-facelift boot handle, with a broken bracket:

Luckily I have a spare facelift one I could cut to pieces:

...and glue together using liquid epoxy:

Will be stronger than standard once it's fully cured

Plan is to knock the baffles out, and stitch it back up again- as a sort of temperary fart cannon until I get an opportunity to sort a proper exhaust for it ;-)

No real updates to speak of, but new tyres should arrive later on today (dropping to a 195/45/15), new backbox should turn up at some point this week (my straight pipe box didn't turn out so well so I've ordered a sportex 3"), and the car goes to bodyshop on Wednesday to have the sills sorted and all the fonts removed etc... Should have some pics / vids to upload a week from now
