You don't need a reverse light to pass an MOT, but if you have one fitted then it needs to be white. If you fitted some bright enough lamps, then it might overwhelm the red so it won't even turn pink.

Photos don't really show the colour or coverage very well- but looking good in real life.
One more top coat (when my next batch of paint arrives) to do before it's ready to flat and lacquer

Some further progress on the topless nismo rep grill...

Got a new midpipe- will replace the under carriage cat effectively giving me a slightly silenced 2nd decat.
For anyone interested in this mod, you need to order the midpipe for a 2000-2002 1.0l 1.3l 1.4l (they're all the same part).
£30 ish from your local motor factors, or £40 ish on eBay:

Just need to get my hands on a set of bolts to fit the front and rear flanges now

I'm on quite a tight deadline, so I've got to keep plowing away at it day by day or it won't be ready in time
Total update= £483 spent, 53 days until next deadline...
Got some m10x40mm stainless nuts and bolts and some exhaust paste so I can bolt up the midpipe to the downpipe- hoping to do that job on Tuesday night...

Was hoping to get my midpipes swapped over today, but 20years worth of rust coupled with an inability to get the car high enough off the ground, soon put a stop to that...
...did however, adjust my panhard rod properly- been meaning to do that for weeks so feels good to finally sort it out.

Also did a little more work on the grill today:

Recycled a bracket from one of those daft exhaust whistles...

And made up an earth strap:

Need to acquire a nice switch, and an inline fuse so I can make up the feed wire and switch, but that'll have to wait a couple of days now.

No further on with the centre section due to heavily corroded bolts- gonna need to get the car up in the air I think to grind them off- so that job is on hold for now as well

Grill is coming along nicely- one more coat of filler in the side bits, is drying as I type- once smoothed I'll be able to crack on with paint

I thought the mid pipe was shorter on the facelifts

The 01-03 midpipe has no cat in it, so it might be a tad shorter but we'd be talking mm's...
Had the exact same set up on my old super s, so should fit up fine

Finally got round to replacing the knackered battery... Turned out I had a genuine vauxhall Corsa B/C battery fitted, which has gotta be roughly 10years old- so no wonder it was knackered!

...and done some more work on the wiring for the horn.
Was going to use a metal toggle switch, but was a little too big for the dash blank, so I fitted a smaller toggle switch... Which I've changed my mind on- so just waiting for the postman to bring me a push switch;

Made a bridge connection, which will run between the cigarette lighter:

Turns out the bridge connector isn't going to work- not enough space behind the dash fascia to store the wiring & keep it all connected properly...... So with a heavy heart I'm gonna have to break out the soldering iron and do this properly *sigh*

Cig lighter posi feed spliced and soldered:

Ignition on and feed tested!- we have lift off!

Wiring insulated and neatened up:

Sounds like a nazi prisoner camp haha is it much louder than stock on the road?

Illegal to use it on the road (which is why I've got it running on a separate circuit), but yeah it's a lot louder.

The stock horn is about 60db- the awooogah horn is about 90... My stebel horn (main one that I replaced the stock one with) is 139db- and to put that into perspective, +20db is loosely equivalent to 10x louder volume (in other words, the stebel is roughly 120x louder than stock?- although the reality is that it's just plain f*ing loud!- be safe!- be heard!)

Finally got the back box off!

...and acquired some new bits to put the new midpipe on (new total spend = £620):

And got the horn switch finished and everything back in the dash:

39 days until the next deadline, and not too many things left on the jobs list once the exhaust is back on

...today I just hacked the midpipe to bits, and removed the frontpipe- gonna order a new frontpipe and keep things simple:

The majority of the "smoke" is actually dust off the floor btw- just before anyone starts screaming H/G failure at me

Well, little Charlie is all back together now, taxed and insured and been out for a wee road test this evening!

Apart from some minor adjustments needed to the setup of the panhard rod, and a rather foul blow coming from the join (midpipe to downpipe)- mainly I think because I've either attached the cat carrier wrong way up, or just not made a good enough seal... Will resolve both hopefully on Monday, and get a little video of a test run
