There was an old theory that letting the engine stand cold a few days allowed the bolts to be reused. If you removed them too soon after being hot they will stretch and not torque back down properly. Definitely make sure you clean all oil and water from the head threads as the pressure of the bolts going back in can crack the block.
I used a microfiber cloth and screw the threads through the pile. Then used some sand paper to remove some of the common corrosion from under the head...
Then lube with engine oil before putting them back
