Thanks for the tip. I'm not a professional painter, but I think I got some sort of acid at work that might do the trick, if it's not strong enough to melt plastic. Will find out before i use it tho.

NOT acid, but bleach, see my thread HERE. It's a slow process but works well and the final results are very good...
I fitted the front and rear 'Nissan' badges and decided that I fancied a change with the 'Micra' badge on the tailgate so got a K11 one, which has a nice slanting font, from ebay, stripped and painted that, only to find, on removing the original badge, that it left a ghost outline in the paintwork, which no amount of 'T cutting' and polishing would remove, that wasn't fully covered by the K11 badge.
In the end I stripped and painted the original Micra badge and re-fitted that.
Anyone need a nice black K11 'Micra' badge?
