argh this is doing my head in now everytime i try to go on to this website it says straight away that they cant establish a connection and this was when i was using IE and also now firefox

can anybody else connect to this webbie or is it just me i seirously thing my pc is fudged i also think i need to upgrade my motherboard and processor as my processor is only running a1.75 ghz and i only have 715mb of ddr ram lol how crap is my pc

Your PC is better spec than mine and I don't have a problem, though two week ago I did start my computer from scratch by backing up all my files and formating both my Hard Drives and re-installing windows xp home, now my PC can talk to my XBOX360 (About time) which before it didn't want to know, I now have a gamertag as well.

There's probably something on your machine stopping that page loading up correctly. There's still some very low spec computers out there, much worse than yours which will load that site up ok.

Try your hosts file m8 a script could have added to it. If it is it'll have 127.0.0.1 followed with the site you're trying to access, delete the entry then save it (with Notepad) then remove the .txt extension.

My ISP address was automatically blocked from the March Cabriolet Club website after i sent a Sniffer program in to do searches for me... it being all in Japanese and all lol, now i can only get to it via a proxy.

Double click on hosts and open it with notepad

You MAY have a browser hijack object on your machine (BHO). You need to download a program called Hijackthis. (google it). Do a scan of your machine and upload the log file onto here (copy and paste the contents).

mr rimmer thank you very much you have helped me so much mate its finaly working now and by the looks of it my pc is running fine now when i used that program i fixed everything that was on the list and my pc started to update its self from windows so what ever it was on me pc its gone cheers mate

The first is a list of programs running, or more precisely, processes. I can't see any thing out of place. I stopped keeping up with windows nonsense about 3 years ago - so I don't know for sure. The 2nd looks to be a list of registry entry's?

In my opinion, you should delete the ones which I've bolded (close IE/firefox.. everything infact before continuing) Ones i've put in italics are questionable. I like a very tidy start up process and although you're removing objects from this list, such as photoshop, msn and adobe and whatever else i've chosen, doesn't mean the application won't work, it just means it's not always running when you start the system up, and will only run when you tell it to.

Is your computer connected to the internet via a modem or a router?

I notice you also have Windows XP Service Pack 3.. Have you had these problems since SP3 has been installed? as you might be able to revert back to SP2.

check your hosts file.

is what it should look like under default XP install.

c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

open it with notepad (again, default path)

sorted it now cheers for all of the replys msn is fixed now and my windows is updating now its time to fix me cd drives as they are broke as well think i need to find the drivers for them god i give up lol

cd drives should just be covered by a generic windows driver.
