no spark

our 2000 k11 1ltr cvt (pre coil packs)has just stopped working no probs going to the beach but car wouldn't start to come home
had the AA out he checked
the fuses there ok
the fuel pump buzzs when ignition is turned on
you can smell fuel so fuel is getting through to the plugs
but no spark

what else can it be ?? dissy / ignition amplifier

any suggestions

the dizzy,s usually fail when hot not restarting eh, assuming the chains are ok, you,re best to check for a 12v supply to the dizzy and a signal to the ecu

are the 1ltr and the 1.3ltr dissy's interchangeable as i know a scrappy with a k11 in but i dont know what engine size it is

yes, but its worth checking with a meter before forking out tho eh

If the MIL is not flashing, is not a NATS issue. I would say its a bad dizzy, had that on the SR and it didnt gave any ECU error , just swapped the dizzy and it started no problems...

the red led flashes with no key in the ignition but when key is in the led goes out , we have tried both keys incase it was something to do the nats system.
going to ring the scrappy in the morning to get a price for the dissy.

The red led is normal to flash with ignition OFF. I was talking about the engine management light on the cluster, if it stays on when you turn the key to ON, thats good, if it blinks, its a NATS issue...

a big thank you for your help the micra is alive again it has a pulse.
went to a scrappy they had a dissy for £24 inc vat and they removed it for me
so an hour later alls good.
i dont have a timing light anymore so to set it back up i measured
how much above the cyl head the lug on the dissy was and set the
new one to this height.
i wish i could buy you all a virtual pint to say thanks
