Yes, mine is a '53 Auto K12 with chain stretch.

I've joined up to see if there is any hope of saving my bank balance, lol. Is there an alternative to Nissan Dealer's nice offer of only £1200+ to repair it?

were are you located? You can pick up a chain kit from ebay for £130 and a competent mechanic should be able to do it, preferably one who has done it before

There're a couple of members on here who are pro's and have done loads. Sure one chap said £400 all in .

I'm in Basingstoke, Hampshire.

I repair washing machines etc. for a living and I have a Haines book but it looks like a job for a proper mechanic, :laugh:
