Nissan Micra NTec front windscreen wiper stopped working

Hi there. My front windscreen wiper randomly stopped working while I was driving today. Tried the control stick many times but it is not working, any guidance or ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

Turn it on and listen, can you hear the wiper motor running? If so the linkage has probably become disconnected, common fault as the nylon ball joint on the linkage to the motor wears. Best cure is to fit new linkage arm which has new nylon socket in it...
