cant u get new inners like replacing a light bulb

What Neons is it? Undercar ones or inside ones? Halfrauds job?
Get a pic up if you can
Titch :kungfu:

the glass tube on the inside is full of neon gas, then about 24000 volts is past through it which makes it glow,

the bulb is sealed inside the plastic one with glue so that if it broke you wouldn't have a sparkler attached to the bottom of the car,

it may be possible to get a replacment bulb but you wont be able to fit it,

and i don't think you can buy a new tube on it's own so sorry but it looks like you need a new kit...

they are down to £45 in halfords,

i was gonna get some for my bro but they only had red

Not a big fan of Neons, but your choice i suppose!
Heard the the LED ones are meant to be quite good? Bit more robust than the tubes anyway...

If an individual Led breaks then the rest of the tube will still work, but as you can tell in this case, if a neon breaks, then it breaks completely!

Believe the LED's are brighter too, but generally more expensive to buy

Another reason for there higher cost is they can be multi coloured, can flash, do stupid night rider style movements and other programmable movements etc.

yea the neons are wired in series to prevent eletricution,

but the LED ones give a direct light, i prefer the glow you get from neons :)

if the LED ones are done right - they can give off a good glow to!

Wow! very bright Ed. How many Led's did that take for that effect, and we're they in protective plastic tubing etc?

No they wernt in plastic hence why prototype... :) I cant remember how many LEDs now probably about 12.
