my k10 project

lol true would be a twitchy little thing you would mabey have to chop the firewall right out and set the sr right back to kill the understeer issues it would mabey have. then sit on the back seat to reach the gearstick:laugh: would be ultra cool tho mate(Y) i wanted a kp61 starlet to throw a 4age or sr in it but getting one is an impossibility nowadays.

I know I quite fancied one myself

Tested the colour on the wheels that will be adorning the body shortly :)
Need to get all the arches cut out and the extensions fitted before I get painting

There's nearly an inch of #### on that head gasket from out the water jacket!

Also this arrived today

Already held it up against the Micra doesn't look that hard to get on!

it would be better arc welded rather than mig'd mate.

Really I hate arc welders alway burn myself and get the rods stuck! I just got rid of an arc as my super mig can weld way more things!
I'd have thought the mig would be alot better than an arc, but I'm not a welder so dunno

yeah the stick welders are defo better on the old cast you can mig it but i find it welds miles better with arc. rods shouldn't stick if ya get some heat in them first i.e throw them in the oven or on the hob lol. if ya throw some heat in the manifold first you should get a fairly neat weld with no cracks. thats how i did mine but everyone has their own techniques. try it with the mig cause it might not turn out to bad at all if it does then you can always grind it all back down and stick weld it or gas (Y)

By the way there's two kp60 starlets rwd on eBay for less than £500

cheers mate that green one looks a little mint one (Y) bit skint at the min tho :( im still thinking of rwd conversion for the k10. i would probably do it on the cheap and build up of mk2 escort axel and 4age lump up front.

Id have thought a knackard s13 would be cheaper to get hold of then you have everything
I'd probably use the rear subframe too make the car fit the subframe that way the diff won't be bolted to the floor

And fitted

I've not tried it yet but as it went on tight the car started to creak with every turn of the ratchet! That's gotta be good!

I've got a Parweld electronic inverter stick welder that'll weld upto 140A with 3.2mm rods - rods never stick with a proper inverter. Also got a ton of sticks if you want to borrow or meet up :).

Cheers for the offer mate but I'm really unlucky and seem to blow up most things so I'd be petrified of damaging someone elses tools

I've probably just blown the wire feed somewhere I'll have a fondle and get it back up and running

Micra gtir ;)
Not as easy a I had imagined not as tidy either but I am repainting it all eventually so I'll tidy up everything then

I'll remove the nipples at a later date as I can't be arsed rewiring it all and my welders still dead so can't cover the holes
In reality it looks alot better and once I get rid of the excess silicon it should look better ;)
But I like it

your going to ruin the super s black paint! :(

That's the down side im still wrestling with it struggling to find somewhere to get hold the matching paint
Plus I've kinda ruined most of the body panels and the rust etc! Matt black is cheap fix
