MOT tester recommendations in the Edinburgh area?

Looking for recommendations for an honest MOT tester in the Edinburgh area?

I have a guy who is a good honest mechanic who I have always taken the car too. Unfortunately, the guy isn't returning calls or messages and the car needs to be MOT'd.

Recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I'd suggest you find your local council testing station. As I understand it every council has to provide an MOT station. I always use our local one because they have no interest in conjuring 'faults' to generate work. Case in point, had to take a car to a garage MOT station about 7 years ago, it got two advisories of a noisy wheel bearing and a degraded rear engine mount. Neither of which have been picked up since and neither of which looked faulty to me.
