More exhaust trouble - hangers!

Need my new box on by 1, so fast help is appreciated

How do i get the backbox off the rubber hangers!
The standard one on there has big ass knobs (Not sure what else to call them!) on the metal hangers from the backbox, so i can't pull them out of the rubber hanger..

Any ideas that don't involve cutting off the knobs?

Stanley knife on the hangers. You need to replace them anyway lol.

Well, i dont have new hangers to replace them with, so need to reuse the ones there

grease them up and lever them off

Get a jack under the backbox to support the weight of it, when the hangers aren't stretched they will come off really easily.

lever them off how? just pull them? or try using a screw driver or something?

It's greased, the weight is supported, still no luck

This is why most people cut them off lol.

If i cut the knobs off, do you think the backbox could be reused?

Yeah but the hangers may fall off if you re-use it. Can't you get more hangers?

would any motor factor sell them then yeah? They don't have to be car specific?

are you talking about exhaust rubbers?!? there abit more then that in helfords....about a fiver each....and there universal ones

I got mine from motorists discount for a couple of quid each, just make sure they have a 10mm ish hole and are about the right length.

Managed to get one off with wd40 and a screwdriver. the others just wont budge though

You should get a K10, the rubbers on them bolt on.

Now i just hope putting the new one on is a bit easier.. Lol

You could always warm them up with a heat gun to make them nice and bendy

or a cig lighter and make the flame as big as ya leg lol
