Mildred the Micra

I loosened it and sprayed mine every day for a week with wd40. It unsiezed then. Once I removed it you could see where the oil had penetrated almost all the way along it.

Thanks for all the help guys taken it to the local engineers to try a blow torch first :)
On a nother note..... fluorescent pink.... I beg to differ!

@Clodo what brakes did you go for? iv been quoted for a set of greenstuff low brakedust pads and brembo discs around £100 :)
Wouldn't bother. My experience of thosr is they work better... Briefly. If you want better brakes, spend the money on 100nx or 1.4 sunny/prefacelift almera 237mm vented discs and calipers. Cheaper in the long run than greenstuff too.

Meh im not fussed about braking quality, standard is perfectly fine for me, the greenstuff offers low brake dust so I don't have to clean my wheels every 30 seconds, and the brembos are just there and cheap :)

I dropped her off Saturday and stripped her down to have the crossmember changed... Finished it today so we went back to put her front end back together... Bank holiday tomorrow so she can't be motd till Tuesday and depending on the result may not get her back to Wednesday... Possibly later xxx

Not really up dated in a while.... will do eventually :p
for now MORE rust! Everytime I look at her I must find more :(
Managed to catch but still annoying!

Gotta love chemical metal!

Then It came to that time of year..... insurance due :( my renewal quote came in some how three pounds more exspensive than last year at £1053! And thats taking of break down or any modifications......
Phoned them and very politely rufused to pay that much and told them ill be leaving, fourty five minutes later, left with a much nicer figure :)
Break down cover, mods declared and all the other packages and advantages they offer for the grand sum of £852
Pretty chuffed with that one! :) x

Great work :)
Thanks zazee... lots of hours and needle pricks later :L but considering I actual detest sewing dont think it came out to badly :) xxx

Welded metal is prone to rust, since the protection on the metal you're joining is burned off during the welding process. To add to that, the joins themselves won't be protected as the metal used to weld could be different to the metal you're joining.

It could be a number of reasons, but either way, the metal should be protected one way or another on both sides to stop rust reappearing.

The metal that been used has some special compound to stop it rusting can't remember now... It's always been protected on the outside only just got round to the inside though :-( xxx

MORE RUST! :'(

Sills were done in September....... its like biscuit tin inside them!

Only went to waxoyl them!

I give up!
just give them a good soaking clo :) my sills were starting to swell up underneath about 2004 ! (when my misses used to drive it) so i removed the casings and sprayed chainoil down there
