Came back from a bit of shopping and dinner in Sunderland yesterday only to find a nice white plastic envelope on the windscreen. £30 within 14 days or £60 within 28 days. I had put two hours on the ticket thinking it would be enough, but obviously not. ####ing traffic wardens! (It was only 10 minutes out). can't believe I have to put £30 into the city of sunderland :doh:

i got one a few weeks back and i was 1 minute in! I contested it but they said by the time i got to my car blady blady bla

Its rediculous, they're sitting there waiting for it to expire and jump out as soon as it does. Not surprising why traffic wardens are hated so much

By law you have a "reasonable time scale" to get back to your car, if you have put a ticket on it then unfortunatly its your fault for not being back in time, if you park on a double yellow and are genuinly "off loading" etc you have 7 minutes to do this unless there si a sign stating other wise.

3 years ago i parked ona public road in a designated parking bay, there was a sign about 3m away saying " 2 hour parking max between 8am and 6pm monday - friday. cool i though as its a sunday night (8pm) and im staying round my mates till the morning, i'll be gone by 9am.

got to my car at 915am and i had a ticket for parking in a residential only parking space, WTF!!!!! i wrote to the council saying that i wasnt parkied on a residentail only space and whilst waiting for the reply letter i went back round my mates, the gardners had been round and cut a hedge that had grown very high (approx 2.5m) down to 1.8m and low and behold the sign was in the fecking hedge!!!!!!!!!!! i wrote another letter claiming that the sign wasnt visible etc and i hear nothing back. 3 weeks ago i got a letter from some solicotor stating i had 14 days to pay £120 plus admin fees etc or i'll go to court or the baliffs eould be round, i worte a letter to the solicitors satating the facts with a photo, and they dropped the case. but the council wont and insist i pay. it really ####es me off

anyway on a different note got payment for a ticket returned to me. i'd parked in the works loading bay while at work and was issued a ticket not for being in my work bay but cos my rear bumper (not wheels just bumper) was in the taxi ranks airspace. :S

got my money back 4 years later thats right 4 years, lol

you knew wen to be back for,didnt you have the time on you?

10secs mite aswell be 10hour as far as they care

I thought I would be back before then, so didnt take note of the time. I know it's their job, but when it is a quiet back street with about 15 empty parking bays infront and behind me, is there realy any need?

Thats normally an extremely busy place to park kirton, next to the snooker clubs and all the accountancy buildings etc etc....

Yes, because otherwise you have parking wardens deciding who can and can't break the law, which isn't what they are meant to be doing.

when they stuck the ticket on your window did it leave a sticky mark?

if so that's what annoys me those sticky marks. Northern Rock stick a peace of paper to your window with prit stick if you park on site with out permission lucky for me i have my own bay but the glue mark would do my head in if it was ever done to me.

Nah it didnt. If you park in the wrong places at college they stick a big GREEN bit ov paper on ur window sayin u shudnt have parked there. and I've seen peoples cars witht the remains of them stickers on for ages!!! lol, rite #### take to get off.

its the LAW mate...do as it says or face punishment
