Hi all,
My other half has owned his K11 for 5ish years now, with very few problems. However, now its becoming VERY difficult to get the key out of the ignition, and I think it's time to get a new barrel.
Is it possible to get an exact replica barrel direct from a dealer (stealer?), as I did with an old Ford Escort for a mate, or is it a choice of 2 others ideas (1. get another barrel, get the key coded by Nissan, and have a car with 2 diff keys. OR 2. Replace the whole set of locks and ECU etc).
It's on a W plate with NATS, just a 1.0 petrol. Not being nasty to it's but it's no spring chicken, so obviously would like the best price job. I'm not averse to doing the work myself, but want to make sure it's do-able.
Incidentally the car is just standard locks, no central or remote locking. Are we able to code the keys, or is it a dealership job.
All opinions very gratefully received.
